Happy June!


We have many exciting things to announce this month! First off, we will be open to the public for browsing starting Tuesday, June 1st! See below for details on our protocol. We will continue to provide front table service by calling 732-747-9649 or by using our online catalog found at littlesilverlibrary.org.

Other things to look forward to this month include Summer Reading, which starts on June 1st, and Outdoor Storytime, which begins on Tuesday, June 15th!

Library Closing For Election
The library will be closed on Tuesday, June 8th for the primary election.
New Library Protocols
Reasonable safety guidelines have been implemented to ensure a safe environment for patrons and staff. The library will be open for walk-through visitors and encourages patrons to grab-and-go. Front table pick up will also be available.

HOURS open to PUBLIC:  
Monday: 12:00 pm-7:30 pm 
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday:  11:00am-4:00 pm
Saturday:  10:00-1:00 pm
 
Patrons and staff must adhere to the following safeguards:
1.     If you are unvaccinated, we ask that you please wear a mask.
2.     Do not enter the library if feeling sick.
3.     Hand sanitizer will be available at the door.
4.     There is a limit of 5 patrons at any one time.
5.     There will be a 30 minute time limit per patron. Please collect your items quickly to allow others to enter the library.
6.     Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
7.     Daily newspapers, magazines, computers, Xerox/Fax machine, children’s play items and onsite programming are not available at this time.
8.     Public restroom will not be available; one will be available in the Recreation building behind Borough Hall.
9. All returned items must be placed in the foyer Book Drop.

Summer Reading!
Storytime with Ms. Danya
Outdoor Storytime
Beginning Tuesday, June 15th
Outdoor Storytime will be held behind the Recreation building beginning on Tuesday, June 15th! Please call the library at 732-747-9649 between the hours of 10:00 am-4:00 pm to sign up starting every Thursday prior to Tuesday Storytime.

Please bring a beach towel to sit on. We will contact you to cancel in case of inclement weather; please notify us if you need to cancel. Masks are optional.
 
Toddler Storytime – Ages 2-3 years with parent/caregiver  11:00-11:20  
Family Storytime- Ages 3-6 years with parent/caregiver 11:45- 12:05

Take’N Make crafts will be provided for patrons to take at end of program.

As always, we have lots of fun storytime activities for the kids from Ms. Danya. You can find them here!

As always, we have a plethora of newly released books and DVDs for adults and children to borrow and enjoy!

The AARP Fraud Watch Network is working to empower you in the fight, with proven resources and tools to help you spot and avoid identity theft and fraud. Fraud presentations cover a range of topics including: FWN Basic Presentation, Cyber Safety, Protecting Your Digital ID/Dark Web, Government Imposter Scams, Identity Theft, Investment Fraud, Medical Identify Theft, Online Romance Scams.

Children's Special Events
Allez-Oops
A VIRTUAL VARIETY EXTRAVAGANZA!

Saturday, June 5 from 10:00 - 10:45 am

Enjoy a fun-filled, family show featuring circus thrills, slapstick comedy, and fast-paced silliness! This can’t-be-missed performance premieres Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 am on the Monmouth County Library’s Kids Page. Can’t make it? Watch on-demand through June 11.

Non-Fiction/History Book Club
The Non-Fiction/History Book Club will meet on the WiFi patio at the library on Monday, June 21 at 7 pm, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather a Zoom meeting will take place. The group will be discussing "The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. You may contact the library at 732-747-9649 to borrow a copy of the book!

Take 'N Make Crafts!

We've created "Take 'N Make Craft" kits for our littlest patrons to enjoy! They will be available in the Children's section of the library! Available while supplies last!
Book Drop
All returned books must be placed in the book drop (even during operating library hours) so they may be properly quarantined .
Free WiFi!
Our WiFi patio is always available for your use!
