22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
"My soul is thirsting for You, O Lord my God."
Weekly message from Fr. Mike
For your information – The Jackson County Health Department amended the mask order to reflect changes regarding persons with exemptions. Exemptions include:

  • Those who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Children younger than five years old; and
  • Children who are younger than two years old should never wear face coverings due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Children who are two, three, or four years old, with the assistance and close supervision of an adult, are strongly recommended to wear a face covering at all times in settings, like grocery stores or pharmacies, where it is likely that a distance of at least six feet cannot be maintained from non-household members and vulnerable people must go.
  • Persons with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering. This includes, but is not limited to, persons with a medical condition for whom wearing a face covering could obstruct breathing or otherwise unable to remove a face covering without assistance.

Live streaming volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to assist with live streaming masses. We stream the 5:00 PM Mass on Saturday evenings. The process is not difficult, but does require Windows PC experience. Ideally each volunteer would only be required to stream once or twice every 2 months. If you'd be interested in learning about this important ministry, please email David Bremer at the office, dbremer@holyspiritmo.org.

Weeding of the parish grounds
Our parish grounds could use some TLC. Do you have some extra time on your hands? We invite you to come to the church and help weed the grounds. Areas that need the most work are around the lighted signs, around the sides of the building, and in the parking lot islands. If you have questions, please email the office, parish@holyspiritmo.org.

Book study
Wanting to learn more about Catholic Social Teaching and racial justice in America? What are our responsibilities to equality of all God’s children in light of the Gospel of Jesus? We will be offering an opportunity to study the book “Racial Justice and the Catholic Church” by Fr. Bryan Massengale. Sessions will be held via Zoom.

If you are interested, please contact Deacon Rich at the Parish Office,
816-537-6990, x305 or via email at rich.akins@holyspiritmo.org.
