Driving Change
Welcome (back) to the Buzz! In this edition, we highlight how NVIDIA used crowdsourcing and other strategies to develop their initial certification exam during the pandemic lockdown. We also hear from Alpine’s own Blair Harris, VP of Technology Solutions, why CertMetrics 2.0 is such an exciting step forward in the evolution of candidate and credentialing management. These are just two examples of how programs – and the assessment industry in general – continue to solve problems and adapt to new expectations while maintaining focus on sound assessment practices and solid validity evidence.

I sincerely look forward to seeing how, as an industry, we continue to move forward creating solutions that provide validity evidence to support our assertions and:

  • better mitigate security risks and other threats to validity;
  • better fit the ever-accelerating pace of change and value propositions desired by stakeholder groups, including the engagement expectations of Millennials and Gen-Z; and,
  • better position and apply assessment as a valuable ally in one’s journey as a life-long learner.

Best regards,

Brian Adams
President & CEO of Alpine Testing Solutions, Inc.

NVIDIA's Distributed Exam Development During Lockdown Includes Crowdsourcing Element

See how NVIDIA employed innovative and psychometrically sound ways to complete exam development for their certification pilot exam in spite of
COVID-19 lockdowns and limited SME resources.

“We were considering putting the exam development on hold on until we could get more SMEs. The Alpine project team jumped in and began brainstorming creative ways to get us over our resource hurdles."

"Alpine recommended that we consider crowdsourcing by reaching out to external folks in the IT target audience who had taken our courses. We asked them to participate and got a great response."
