Community Art Days are fun and free days of art in public parks across Inyo County. The events include arts and crafts activities, live music, artist booths, and food vendors. Featured performers so far include Zikomo and the Carbe & Durand Duo with Aubrey Richmond.

Featured Artist: David Kirk
David Kirk likes to contemplate landscapes especially. He imagines that the effects and play of light upon the shapes and surfaces of the Eastern Sierra are as dynamic and fascinating as anywhere in the world - hence the subject for the majority of his work.

He likes watercolor because of the medium's ability to convey light and atmospheric effects and the often unpredictable interaction with the surface that it's applied to. He also enjoys combining opaque mediums such as gouache, pen, and ink.
He moved to the Owens Valley back in 2001 in order to devote more time and attention to his painting. Since then he has regularly shown his work at venues throughout the Eastern Sierra and Southern California.

He finds the Eastern Sierra an endless source of inspiration and is fortunate enough to have employment which entails caring for the landscape. Working to protect the landscapes that he draws inspiration from is fulfilling and symbiotic. The growing contingent of painters, photographers, sculptors, and other artists living here in the Eastern Sierra inspires him as well.
