Crosstown Connection Jan 2-8
24 Hour Prayer Vigil - Jan 8 & 9
Every year we as a church set aside a 24-hour period to focus on prayer for our world, nation, community, and congregation. Our creative arts team has created a 4-station prayer walk to help us journey through the Crosstown verse of the year (Hebrews 12:1-3). We encourage you to sign up for 30 minutes or more as a family (kids and youth), couple, or individual. We are grateful for your partnership in this event as we start the year beseeching God together.
..... 50 Days with Jesus .....
This Sunday we are kicking off our 50 Days with Jesus series. Did you sign up for a small group or watch party yet?! We would love to see you make a plan to join us. This is a great opportunity to reconnect to the Crosstown community that we have been missing as we continue virtual worship.
The first Chosen episode we will look at is "I Have Called You By Name," the story of Jesus' rescue of Mary Magdalene. This episode is based on the following Scripture passages: Isaiah 43:1-3, Luke 8:1-3, Mark 16:9-11
Wednesday Bible Study -Jan 6
Each week we’ll gather on Zoom to hear faith-filled music, pray together, and explore God’s Word. The morning will begin with Lois Young leading from the piano. She will share from some of the great hymns and songs of our faith. After a time of prayer for others, Pastor John will lead us on a “deep dive” into Scripture.
Children's Christmas Pageant
We promise this video will bring a smile to your face!
Families Together
Families, kids, and friends, join Polly on Jan 6th at 6:30pm on Zoom for Bible stories and music together. Both the Jan 6th and Jan 20th gatherings will be on Zoom.
Youth Group- resumes Jan 6
Youth will gather on Zoom for the 8 weeks in January and February. The Zoom link and additional information will be on the Crosstown app. We begin our meeting time as a large group then split into small groups for discussion via the breakout room feature. For this reason, we recommend that siblings use separate devices (if possible). January will include biblical teaching through a video series called, "I Can Only Imagine". We will also deliver weekly "youth group kits" to homes. These are meant to create a greater sense of community and togetherness even though we're in separate spaces.
TreeHouse- resumes Jan 5
If you would like more information about this teen support group please reach out to Angie and check out the TreeHouse website.
Need Help!
In 2021 I would like to explore the idea of improving communication and online conversation, especially between members of the congregation. If you have a prayer request, how can you directly share it with the congregation and, as importantly, give updates? If you have a need or something to give, how can that be shared so that we can better support one another?
Kristi needs two dedicated people to explore these options, create a plan for implementation and education, and lead the congregation in utilization. If you have a heart for improving the connections within the congregation beyond friend groups and Bible study small groups please email the office.
Leadership Retreat- Jan 16
Crosstown is still gathering its leaders (ministry staff, elders, deacons) via Zoom for a retreat with guest facilitator Jon Kramka. He serves as the Director of Congregational Vitality for the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Jon will bring a voice of encouragement and challenge as we consider what we learned from 2020 and look ahead to the challenges of 2021. Please pray for this gathering.
CarePartners Learning Pod
Crosstown and CarePartners have renewed our partnership for 2021. We will continue to host learning pods four days a week in the gym. Students are in the building Monday-Thursday.
