Hello Rockwell Families,
Typically, in June we look forward to having a Volunteer Tea, where we invite all who have volunteered for the school to join us for snacks and celebration. Unfortunately, we are still unable to gather. However, we would like to celebrate everyone who worked so hard this year! Please review the list below and nominate those who have been awesome! Please submit your nominations by Friday, May 28th 2021.

Looking for a Volunteer to be Co-Chair

Interested in volunteering but you don't want to overcommit yourself?
Are you looking for a gentle and easy introduction to being a PTA volunteer?
Looking for a place to put your organizing talents to good use? THEN WE WANT YOU!!!

I'm looking for an Emergency Preparedness Co-Chair for the 2021-2022 school year to help complete some projects while gaining some specialized knowledge that could be useful at home. Since I co-chair another districtwide committee, I would love an extra set of hands executing some valuable e-prep projects at Rockwell. This E-Prep Co-Chair role is very flexible since there are only a few minimal obligations throughout the year. The amount of time and volume of tasks is mostly self-determined and self-initiated. In this role, you would be helping Rockwell become safer and more prepared for unexpected emergencies. My favorite feature of this position is being able to serve the Rockwell community while working around my busy daytime schedule. Typical tasks involve counting, organizing, and purchasing our emergency supplies as well as attending quarterly e-prep committee meetings. You don't need any prior knowledge of emergency preparedness. You'll even come away learning a ton about how you can be better prepared at home and in your community. Bonus points if you're a Kindergarten or first grade parent!

If you're interested, email me at stephwagner@live.com.

A quick instruction guide to parking lot etiquette to ensure lines of cars flow efficiently and safety remains top priority; please follow these traffic tips:
  • Buses only in the lane closest to the building.
  • Drop off/pick up from the upper lot -- right lane only.
  • The left lane is only for cars driving through or to park.
  • Drop off/pick up children from the far side of the mailbox only. If your car is behind the mailbox, do not ask student to enter/exit vehicle.
  • Parents are asked to stay in their vehicle.
  • Continuously Pull Forward- do not park or let your child out if the car in front of you is moving.
  • Reserved spaces are for staff.
  • Do not pickup/drop off students in the small side lot.
  • Rockwell is an idle-free zone. Turn off your engines as you wait in pick up lane.

These tips will ensure a safe arrival/departure and an expedited process.
