Dear Primary School Families,

On Friday, our students enjoyed an anti-bullying assembly by Magician Mike Seege. He amazed our students with many magic tricks and illusions while he taught them about the importance of being a good friend, being kind to one another, and helping each other.

This week we are eager to welcome you and your child to the Primary School for Open House. Families will be able to meet our teachers, sample delicious homemade pizza from our cafeteria, receive a free gently used book from the Book Stop BookMobile, take part in Teacher Time Raffles sponsored by the PTG, and visit our Title I teachers to learn more about the program. Please note that parking will be at a premium and we ask that families only bring one car to the event. Teachers are only available during their grade level specific time slot (Kindergarten from 5-6 pm, first grade from 6-7 pm, and second grade from 7-8 pm). First-grade families, please park across the street in the middle school/high school parking lot and walk across the bridge to our campus. Thank you for your help with this.

During the week of September 20-24, the district will participate in "Start With Hello Week," part of the Sandy Hook Promise. The week's activities will focus on teaching our students how to be a good friend, empathize with others, and create a more inclusive and connected school culture. We are asking students and staff to wear green on Wednesday, September 22 to show support for this great cause.

We look forward to seeing many of you this Thursday at Open House.
Sincerely,

Emily Mather, Academic Principal
Anissa Rosenwald, Program Principal

The COVID-19 case count dashboard is updated daily around 4:00 pm and is always available for viewing on the District website.

From the Cafeteria
This school year our Food Service Department is experiencing some supply chain issues with numerous menu items for both breakfast and lunch. Some popular items are on backorder with no known restock date at this time. Please be aware that we are adjusting the menus when we are informed of any out of stock items and we are giving students other options to choose from during meal service. We ask for your patience during this time, we are doing the best we can with what products we are able to order. Please contact me if you have any questions and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Chartiers Valley School District is offering FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to every student, every school day. More information.

We are also offering an a la carte snack menu this year for students who wish to pack their lunch and buy snacks.
