Additional Date for An Old-Fashioned Christmas at Hearthside

This year, more than ever before, we have yearned for the traditions of an Old-Fashioned Christmas, and a visit to Hearthside has always been a popular part of many families' favorite traditions. Yet because of COVID restrictions and the state of Rhode Island being put into "pause" during the first 3 weeks of December, Hearthside's Christmas events had to be cancelled, with just one opening taking place on Dec. 27th. Because of a sold-out event on that day, another date is being added on Sunday, January 3rd to give more guests the opportunity to enjoy the last bit of this delayed holiday season. Hearthside at Christmastime always provides for the magic and wonder of the holiday, with self-guided tours featuring stunning decorations, a cozy fire, and twinkling trees throughout two floors of this beautiful home, where over 200 years several different families gathered to celebrate the holidays.

The decorations are simply breathtaking! In a nod to the builder of Hearthside, Stephen Hopkins Smith who was an ardent lover of nature and plants, the rooms are all elaborately decorated with botanical touches. Our docents will be decked out in their Victorian finery to welcome visitors for their tour through the museum. Great photo opportunities, both inside and outside, help to capture the romance, beauty and history of this holiday house.

Just like our other Hearthside events, our docents will be in period attire to help welcome and guide you as well as to monitor safety conditions.

Advance registration and limited ticket sales only. Safety precautions are in place with timed admissions for 4 guests every 15 minutes, one-way foot traffic, social distancing, frequent sanitizing of touch surfaces, and mandatory face masks.

Timed admissions and group capacity require that visitors arrive on time or risk losing their spot. We can't guarantee that there will be availability in a later admission slot should you arrive later than your reserved time.

General admission $12; Youth ages 10-17 $6; age 9 and under free. Members receive 20% discount.
