Greening the Church

The congregation is invited to help green the sanctuary following the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, December 18. We will put up Christmas trees, wrap the columns in garland, decorate the wall sconces, and spruce up the sanctuary in preparation for Christmas. All are welcome. Please contact Cynthia Thomas with any questions.

Christmas Eve Reception

Please join us for a festive reception after the 10:30 p.m. service on Christmas Eve. Bring something sweet or savory to share, and place on the serving table in the parish hall. A Christmas ham and libations will be provided. All are welcome!

Christ Church Nativity Display

The Christ Church Nativities will be on display in the Parish Hall window bays from this Sunday through January 1. They have been gifted to our community by parishioners over the years, and depict the birth of Jesus from cultures around the world.

Vestry Nominations

Are you interested in joining the CC+WP Vestry in 2023? If you'd like to be considered for one of the four slots opening up, please reach out to Jackie Barber, who will pass your interest along to our full nominating committee. It is our hope that our Vestry represents the diversity of our community and its interests, so join us!

End-of-year Giving

In this season of gratitude and anticipation, we invite you to prayerfully explore whether your 2022 pledge was made at a level that still feels right to you. If not, we ask that you consider CC+WP as you determine end-of-year giving, either through the offering plate, stock, or other means. Our community exists thanks to your generosity, and we are deeply grateful.

Outreach: Service to the Community

And the winner was....

Emma Lutton, a Christ Church chorister, was the lucky winner of the 2022 quilt raffle. Thanks to the generosity of so many of you, the quilt efforts raised $6,558 for Buenos Vecinos, our outreach partner in Guatemala and Honduras.

Ellen Finn, leader of BV, shared the following when she received news of the incoming gift:

O quilters and church, I am without words! Absolutely without words! I can't wait to tell the team.

At a time where even basic food is unaffordable, we can set up and expand programs like our family gardens, and plant fruit trees so that folks can feed themselves and sell items for income.

And the onslaught of requests for help of malnourished children... this can help us supply basic nutrients and care at a low price.

Thank you all! For your efforts, for your caring, for your trust, for your support! Blessings to all of you!

In search of a Christmas gift?

Don't know what to get Uncle Bill for Christmas? How about a goat for a family in Nambia? Or seeds, tools and training for a woman in Ghana? The Episcopal Relief and Development Gifts for Life catalog has wonderful offerings for everyone on your list. Spread the spirit of Christmas by giving gifts for life!
