James' Recommendation Series

The Bible starts with the words "In the Beginning" and Matthew, Luke, and Acts all stress that God is sovereign over history. Much of the Bible is history! So believers should value that God is the sovereign Lord over history. It has a beginning, a trajectory, and a purpose to it. History grounds us in the larger narrative of the world and gives us an identity as the people of God. Here are several resources to get you started.

  • The Church in History by Kuiper
  • Introduction to the History of Christianity by Dowley
  • Silent Witnesses by Garry Williams
  • Christian Heroes: Then and Now (Series of Biographies)
  • P&R Publishing has several fictional historical books that teach about church history periods such as "Duncan's War."
Praise God for a wonderful VBS. Many thanks to Sydney Knight for all her hard work. God's Word was planted in hearts and minds. Ask for him to give the increase.

Pray for our students' summer jobs, Bible studies, and our student's growth over this summer.
James and Mary Katherine are always willing to talk with any of you and would love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out at any time if you have questions, concerns or just want to talk.
