Boulevard Elementary School Market Days

Tuesday, May 3rd | 12:45pm - 2:45pm
Tuesday, May 3rd | 12:45pm - 2:45pm

The Cleveland Food Bank provides bulk fruits and vegetables to the Boulevard Elementary community. Volunteers will bag and box the food items to be placed in the trunk of cars. The car drive-through is in the parking lot from 2:30-4:30 pm. Then the boxes are broken down and the remaining food is redistributed. The Market Day program is a way for Boulevard Elementary families and local area families in need to receive healthy food staples in a convenient way.
Among many other projects, the Honduras immersion conducts a series of medical brigades providing health care in rural areas of Honduras. To supply these brigades we purchase and collect vitamins and other over-the-counter medications to bring with us.

As part of this effort, we are currently conducting a vitamin and medication drive. Donations are essential to our mission and are an easy way for other students to help!

If you are wondering what to donate, the single most helpful thing for you to purchase is vitamins--children's chewable vitamins and prenatal, but we will accept almost any over-the-counter medication including:
  • Acetaminophen, children's and adult
  • Alcohol prep pads
  • Allergy medication (loratadine)
  • Antacids (tums, etc.)
  • Aspirin (81 mg)
  • Children's Benadryl (liquid)
  • Calcium
  • Cold medicine
  • Ear wax drops
  • Eye drops
  • Ibuprofen, children's and adult
  • Lice shampoo
  • Naproxen
  • Q-Tussin (non DM cough syrup)
  • Triple antibiotic ointment
  • Zinc Oxide cream (diaper rash cream)
  • Vitamins, children's, prenatal, adult (not gummies!)

Drop boxes can be found in major department offices across campus!

Please contact Selena Alamir salamir24@jcu.edu with any questions.
Stop and catch your breath as the semester gets busier and more stressful! Hit the pause button to reflect on what really matters to you! Take time to explore where you have been, where you are now, and where you are going.

CSSA has designed a workshop to help you explore these questions, think about your next steps, and provide you with great tools, resources, and connections to make them. Learn about exciting courses to take, service opportunities to think about for next semester, non-profit internships, and summer jobs that meet your needs and interests.

All students who have participated in community service, immersion trips, and/or non-profit internships are encouraged to attend!
