In honor of the importance of mental health awareness for Asian Americans during COVID-19, the Association of Chinese Americans, Inc. hosted a Mental Health Workshop titled “You Are Not Alone” on June 9, 2020 via Zoom webinar. We had an amazing speaker team with a good mix of professional psychologists across cultures, ages, geographic areas (NY/Taiwan, CA, MI) with a mix of subject matter. We were fortunate to have Joyce Zhang and we appreciated her undertaking the responsibility of being moderator of this panel. All our speakers and moderator are also outstanding with phenomenal professional experiences. Joyce Zhang is the Co-Founder and CEO of Alariss Global, a Silicon Valley startup that connects overseas workers in the US with opportunities in Asia. Fran Brown, PsyD, LP is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Michigan School of Psychology, a leading institution in clinical, experiential self-directed education for over 35 years. May Chen, Ph.D. is the Associate Professor of Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience of National Central University in Taiwan, who has worked extensively with the US Army in training cadets at the US Military Academy at West Point. Pearl Stewart, LPC is the Licensed Professional Counselor of Perspectives Counseling Center in Troy, Michigan, who is also a passionate mental health advocate, providing education and resources for Asian American communities.
