Use caution when traveling during trick-or-treat hours

Trick-or-treaters of all ages will be out and about this weekend and Monday. Both drivers and pedestrians needs be extra cautious when traveling.


Drivers:


  • Watch for pedestrians and bicyclists, particularly if raining
  • Slow down
  • Keep windshields clean
  • Do not drink and drive


Pedestrians:


  • Walk on sidewalks when possible
  • Carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing
  • Face traffic while walking
  • Do not run out between parked cars
  • Cross at traffic signals, when available

Participate in the 188th Avenue and 195th Avenue online open house through Nov. 6.


We will build new sidewalk and protected pedestrian crossings as part of two projects in the Aloha area: 


  • 188th Avenue from Kinnaman Road to Blanton Street 
  • 195th Avenue from Keena Court to Farmington Road

Comment on the Pedestrian Crossing Improvements online open house through Nov. 6.


We plan to improve pedestrian crossings at these intersections:


  • 185th Avenue and Pike Street
  • Garden Home Road and 84th Avenue
  • Beef Bend Road and Peachtree Drive

Learn about TriMet's Forward Together Draft Service Concept, which is focused on increasing ridership and improving connections to destinations for people with low and limited incomes. Attend an open house or take the survey through Oct. 31.

Springville Road Phase 4

Comment on the updated design for the Springville Road Phase 4 Project in an online open house through Nov. 13.


We will improve Springville Road between the PCC Rock Creek Campus and Joss Avenue by:


  • Adding a center turn lane
  • Installing bike lanes and sidewalks
  • Building a section of multiuse path
  • Installing streetlights
  • Replacing two culverts

WC-ROADS: Projects Starting


  • Denney Road from Scholls Ferry Road to about 500 feet west of intersection; road closure, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 31-Nov. 12 for water supply line installation.


  • York Street at Cornelius Pass Road; road closure, Oct. 26-Nov. 1 for water supply line installation.

Neighborhood meetings, required for many Washington County development applications, can be held online temporarily as per the new COVID-19 Virtual Neighborhood Meeting Supplement.
