Colorado Option: Where it goes from here...
Rulemaking for Colorado Option starts July 29
House Bill 21-1232 was debated, passed and signed into law -- but the legislative process was just one step in the life of the Colorado Option. The Colorado Medical Society continues to represent physicians during the next phase of the legal process, rulemaking.

The Colorado Option will be available to all Coloradans starting in 2023 for patients who buy health insurance on the individual market. To prepare for this, the Colorado Division of Insurance will hold six stakeholder meetings to discuss the framework for the standardized plan for the Colorado Option.

  • FIRST MEETING - Thursday, July 29, 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Overview of the legislation and stakeholder engagement process; register
  • FUTURE DATES - Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Sept. 24, Oct. 4, Nov. 4
