Thanks to you, we are able to let God meet the deepest needs of today's youth by forming and transforming young lives in a beautiful northern Michigan setting.
Camp Sancta Maria's mission is to let God meet the deepest needs of today's youth by forming and transforming young lives in a beautiful northern Michigan setting. To provide young people a technology-free, safe, and faith-filled natural atmosphere packed with fun, where new outdoor experiences and activities enable campers to create healthy relationships and grow spiritually, personally, and communally.
We Can't Wait to See Our Campers,
Staff and Volunteers Again!

Dear Friends and Family of  Camp Sancta Maria,

We have greatly missed seeing all of our campers this summer!

It has been awfully quiet at camp, so much so that some of our woodland creatures have made an appearance, which rarely happens in the summer. We have seen a fox, and a doe with her fawn wandering through camp. Although it was a pleasant surprise, it does not make up for the lack of campers and the fun normally had at CSM.
As challenging as this pandemic is for all of us, we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love him. And so we trust in his divine providence and thank him for the safety of our campers and families, staff, and volunteers. We can't wait to see you all again next year! In the meantime, we hope you can join us virtually this weekend....

With the cancellation of our 2020 summer sessions, which are our primary source of income, we are especially grateful for your financial support. Although closed to campers for the season, your generosity allows us to continue to cover overhead costs, make improvements at camp, and plan for next summer when our campers can join us again for an even better CSM experience!

Thank you for supporting us through our Golf Outing on August 19  and our Benefit Dinner on September 17.

A Fond Farewell to Wally!

Wally Ferrara, who has served as Marketing and Resources Director, Head of the Beach, and Cabin Counselor recently left camp for a new position. Wally has been a fixture at camp for many years and spent countless hours at CSM helping to open and close camp.

He will be greatly missed by all of our CSM family.

Good luck in your new job, Wally, and may you always be TKO in all that you do!

Please join us in praying for Wally. Thank you Wally for all of your work and service! God bless you! #wallysworld #beachisbest
We are truly grateful for your continued support of CSM!

We invite you to join us in asking the intercession of our Blessed Mother to continue to watch over and care for our families and friends.

Thank you, stay safe, and God bless you.
Warm regards,

Wally's World
-- A Fond Farewell --
A photo of Wally on Lake 27 at CSM from many moons ago.
His favorite place at CSM from way back!

You will be missed by many, Wally!

Never would I imagine a year at camp where it is quiet, still, and empty. A year without the cannon, bugle calls, horses, and campers. No laughing, chanting, singing, Baked Alaska, or the beloved (and dreaded) trips to Mackinac island. A year without Unkle Terry, Lady Goodbag (and her cohort), and my favorite horse, Inspector. A year without hollering like an old man at the beach for a kid to stay with his dang buddy. A year without Wally World.

Yet, there is still a deep beauty hidden within this silence. A time to walk around and reflect on how crazy and amazing each and every summer is/was at Camp.

When I first came to Camp Sancta Maria, I thought I would only be here for one summer and here we are... 6 long, fun, incredible and memorable years later! And, as with anything that is fun and worth doing there is an eventual end, and so comes the close of my time here, my beloved home away from home, CSM.

It takes a special heart to work with kids day after day, and even more so at a camp 200+ miles away from home. Camp has taught me so many skills, helped me discover talents, appreciate personal humility and patience, and given me a sincere desire for authentic faith and friendship. Camp has given me memories that will last a lifetime, friendships that I will forever hold in my heart, and ample opportunities for personal and spiritual grown.

For 87 years CSM has been the home away from home for so many.  I am so incredibly and humbly blessed to have spent but a blimp of that time among some of the best people I have ever met at the holiest place on earth. I would like to sincerely thank each and everyone of you for the honor and privilege of working for you in the service of our campers.

I look forward to the next decades that I am on this earth, watching how camp continues to grow, change, and transform the young lives of the campers and families who enter the gates seeking to encounter Christ in all things.

"It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle."  Saint Pope John Paul II

I am forever indebted to you, my dear, CSM.

Totus Tuus Maria.

CSM is held in a trust governed by an independent Board of Trustees. While the Archdiocese of Detroit had generously donated the services of one its priests for decades, they are not responsible for CSM financially. This means that we are responsible to secure our own funding to advance the mission that has been passed down to us since our founding in 1933. To continue this essential work, we need your help. Are you feeling called to donate? Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
