When Jose Trujillo, originally from Peru, moved to St. Louis a few years ago, soccer was the way he and his family met others and the mutual bond he immediately felt helped eased their transition.

As a way to give back what was so helpful to he and his family, he opened Futbol Club STL, a premier indoor soccer facility in the heart of STL. The complex is 46,000 square feet and it includes a total of 6 fields for small sided soccer, 5 V 5 or 6 V 6. Futbol Club STL has three dasher board fields, two lined fields and a futsal court. The facility is open to the public for field rental, pickup games, individual training, birthday parties and corporate events. Keep Futbol Club STL in mind for anyone looking for community connection and, of course, soccer!
Mosaic is looking for Connectors for the Professional Connectors program. The Professional Connector Program gives foreign-born individuals (the "Connectee") the chance to meet with a well-connected and globally-minded professional (the Connector) over one coffee/tea session* and receive job-seeking advice in the participant's respective industry of interest. Connectors then make three additional introductions.

We all know that "who you know" is important in business and during the job search but for foreign-born newcomers, finding the "right" connections can seem insurmountable! It only takes one connection to spark more and help the Connectee boost their confidence and knowledge about the job market.

We're thrilled when we hear that a Connectee landed in a job as the result of an initial Connector's time, guidance and introductions -- it's one of the best ways to have a welcoming impact!

As a little girl growing up in Mexico, Lucía Landa always dreamed of being an architect. Her parents encouraged her interests, allowing her to design her own bedroom as well as part of an unfinished stone house on her father’s property. It wasn’t until she and her husband, Joseph Duggan, a St. Louis native, settled in the area with their daughter Rita that she would bring her passion for design to fruition as the owner of her own upholstery and antiques business, Lucía Landa Upholstery and Lucía Landa Design.

To date, Lucia and her team have re-upholstered an automobile seat for a 1961 Ford Fairlane, seating for 2 restaurants and many residential pieces. Now, Lucia's beautiful collection is available on Chairish, the design world's ultimate destination for home furnishings and art. Click here to continue reading Lucia's story
