Over the weekend, NYC Mayor Eric Adams announced that the Key to NYC program mandating proof of vaccination to enter certain indoor public businesses, including restaurants, bars, gyms and entertainment venues, will likely end Monday, March 7th.
However, it appears likely that the vaccine requirement will only be lifted as to patrons. Per Mayor Adams, "all other vaccine mandates in New York City will remain in place at this time," which would include the NYC private employer vaccine mandate requiring all private sector employees working in New York City to provide their employer with proof of full vaccination in order to work on premises. As Key to NYC employees will no longer be covered by another vaccination mandate program, Key to NYC businesses will now fall under the ambit of the NYC private employer vaccine mandate.
