Many of you have long been asking about our plans to rebuild, and we’re excited to share the first bit of news with you. This Spring we will begin construction of seven new guest buildings. This will comprise six guest accommodations that we are calling the “Hermitages” and an associated bathhouse. Each building will have four individual rooms, for a total of 24 new overnight rooms. Building the six Hermitage buildings will cost $1.8 to $2M. As soon as the snow melts, we will start by having the site surveyed so we can begin site work and install the underground utilities.

We plan to rebuild many individual cabins in the future. The Hermitages are a first step, creating individual heated overnight accommodations that will be well suited to individuals or couples. The Hermitages will be east facing, so you’ll have gorgeous sunrises in the morning. We will use wood we've milled from fallen trees for beautiful touches like exposed beams, trim, and siding. Some of the trees that once stood in the cabin area, will stand again inside the new Hermitages. The shared bathhouse, will include an ADA bathroom with shower. Right now with current projections, budgets, and labor contracts, we plan to have all six Hermitage buildings done by late Fall 2022.

Thus far with your incredible generosity, we’ve raised ~$250,000 out of our $2M goal for Breitenbush Rebuilding. We still have a long way to go, but we continue to be supported by your visits to Breitenbush. Come soak in our magical springs and see all the new things we’re doing this Spring.
