SVUSD Hybrid Reopening Update
|
At the September 10th SVUSD Board Meeting, the Board took action to allow a return to on-campus (in-person) instruction through a Hybrid model beginning on September 29. You may read additional information and details in the SVUSD Reopening Update # 12, here.

Virtual College Fair October 6
|
The THHS PTSA will be hosting a Virtual College Fair to be held on October 6, 2020, for all SVUSD students. In addition to being part of SVUSD College Fair, the UC campuses are having their own virtual UC Campus Week, during the week of September 14 to 17.

OCDE Youth Suicide Awareness Training
|
On September 30th, OCDE will be hosting a training that will provide parents/caregivers of school-aged children with facts, warning signs, and risk factors about youth suicide, as well as ways to protect, help, and talk to their children about suicide and mental health.

The SVUSD School Reopening webpage is dedicated to Distance Learning and COVID-19 related support, as well as for additional information related to SVUSD in-person reopening updates.

To ensure the health and safety of students and staff, a number of additional safety provisions are in place for the 2020-21 school year. The SVUSD Reopening & Safety Plan outlines these protocols and provides additional information.

Distance Learning 2.0 Resources
|
Extensive information including, distance learning schedules, Aeries Family Portal support, SVUSD mental health resources and online enrichment resources to support Distance Learning are available through the Resources link below.

In August, we launched an exchange to solicit stakeholder input to inform our Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan, which is a new state required plan to address student learning during this school year. We used the top thoughts from this exchange to draft our Learning Continuity Plan. You can explore the top thoughts of this exchange with different interactive tools. We appreciate all the time and energy spent participating in this process.

The United States Department of Agriculture announced they will allow schools to offer free meals to all children under the age of 18. The children do not need to be enrolled as SVUSD students. Details may be found on the Food Services website.

As part of its ongoing effort to support kids and families learning and teaching from home during the Coronavirus pandemic, Cox is suspending late fees and extending payment relief offerings for customers in the company’s low-cost internet program, Connect2Compete, through June 30, 2021.

United States Census 2020
|
It's not too late! There is still time until September 30th to respond to the Census via internet, phone, and by mail. Responses to the 2020 Census help inform how much federal funding goes to schools, school meal programs, after-school activities, and other education programs.
