Join us for our Secondary Principals Coffee Monday, Sept. 14 at 9 am

Our first Secondary Principals Coffee of the year will be this Monday, September 14 at 9 am. We have five of these each year, and they are an opportunity for parents to get updates with what is going on in the Middle and High Schools and ask any questions they might have. As with other meetings, the Principals Coffees will be held via Zoom. So brew yourself a nice coffee or tea, grab a pastry, and log in!

Reopening for On-Campus Learning

Williamson County announced that the County has moved to Phase II/Yellow; therefore, unless there is a sudden change, we will begin our phased campus re-opening on September 21:

Week of Sept. 21 - Open to Kindergarten, 1st, 6th and 12th grades
Week of Sept. 28 - Open to K-3rd, 6th-7th, and 11th-12th grades
Week of Oct. 5 - Open to all students who choose on-campus instruction

Commitment form results show just over 1/3 of our families returning to campus instruction, allowing us to ease in during the first quarter, with around 1/2 indicating a return to campus in the second quarter. Keep in mind there will be variations between grade levels.

A reminder: families may go to the Meridian COVID-19 resource page for the most up-to-date information on return-to-school protocols. Social distancing, wearing face coverings, frequent hand washing and sanitizing remain imperative.

Open House Curriculum Nights Recap

It appears that the new format for our Open House Curriculum Nights was a success! In case you have not yet had a chance to view the presentations of all of your children’s teachers, they are still available on the Secondary Open House Curriculum Nights spreadsheet.

Extracurriculars Update

Letter Jacket Sizing & Ordering - For Juniors, Seniors and students who Lettered in 2019-2020: find details and sign up for appointments Sept. 15 and 16 at our Letter Jacket representative's office.

No Pass No Play / Academic Eligibility - With activities such as Model UN, fall sports and other extracurricular activities with a competition or performance component starting soon, parents and students need to be aware of No Pass No Play, the rule that states that students are not eligible to compete or perform in extracurricular activities unless they are passing all of their classes. This will take effect after the end of the 1st Quarter grading period (October 9). For more information, please see No Pass No Play Guidance for Students and Parents

Parent Book Group

Join us Wednesday, October 7 at 10 am for our first of four Parent Book Group meetings this year. If you miss one, please don’t hesitate to jump into another. All are welcome.

For our first book of the year, we are excited to read and discuss the National Book Award winner, “Stamped from the Beginning: the Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America” by Ibram X. Kendi. We believe that by examining our history and ourselves, we are modeling how to be reflective thinkers. This book is a platform for considerate discourse to examine our core beliefs, which in turn, makes us stronger parents.
