We have a long way to go but we move forward one step at a time. Our youth lead by example and show us what is possible. Black and White, straight and gay, Jewish and Christian - our summer staff people are paving the way toward a truly diverse Community Sailing Center.

In a few days time, The DSC will be announcing its summer fundraising campaign that will help keep us in business for generations to come... but today we celebrate the young people who teach us so much.
Dy has broadened my perceptions about intellect and aptitude. He leads our S.I.T. Program this summer
Annika reminds me that the best leadership often comes from "the pit" of the boat, quiet and unnoticed
Jaz has taught me that balance is important
Marquise has taught me to Believe, Believe, Believe
Matt has taught me, over and over again, to avoid making preconceived judgments
Mykayla has taught me that big things come in small packages: Do the Right Thing
Noah reminds me that the youth are our future, and that future can be bright
Amani has taught me to SMILE in the face of adversity
Kate has taught me to be patient. Good things will happen if we provide equal parts support and opportunity
Kendal reminds me the importance of good listening skills
Rory has taught me that diversity comes in many forms
Crystal has taught me, among many things, how to "Keep it Cool" while standing their ground
Will reminds me to keep Joy at the center
And De'Corer teaches me how to be brave. How to be bold. How important it is to speak with the voice we have. Black Lives Matter.
