Our sermon is Loveand our service will be the "Glorious Light of Christmas" cantata. Please bring your hearts to hang on the "Love" tree. Our Moment for Mission will highlight the Christmas Joy special offering, which will have this Sunday.

...is Christmas Day! Join Rev. Jim Ewing and fellow Avondalers and friends at 10 AM for a special "Stories of Christmas" worship service. The night before, be sure to join us Christmas Eve for the lessons and carols service, "The ABCs of Christmas" at 5 PM. Nursery will not be offered for these services; however, the services are meant for the whole family.

ASAP will meet Thurs, Dec 15 at noon in the Fellowship Hall. We will have a delicious holiday meal. Our program will be presented by JOHN TOSCO & GROUP. Come and enjoy wonderful Christmas music. We always look forward to this special time together.

All of our pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House will be turned in the last of December. Please bring what you have to this meeting.

Good Grief this Saturday

A new grief group called Good Grief has begun. This new monthly group will meet at 9 AM on the second Saturday (changed to December 17 this month) in the conference room at Avondale.

Come share, listen and be a part of a community of support. All are welcome!

The Session called a congregational meeting for the purpose of electing our new slate of Elders for the next term. Elected was Paula Huffines, Tom Stout, and Todd Oswald.

Women's Retreat in '23

Our lives have changed over the past few years. Events out of our control have touched every aspect of life. It is time to look forward with hope.

God works in our lives through trouble and hardship as well as joy and peace. Caroline East returns to lead us as we reflect on our lives and look to the future with a perspective of hope and healing.

Staff News

Caroline Starnes, our Communications Coordinator, is leaving Avondale. Her last day in the office is December 22. Caroline said that she is immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to work at Avondale for the past seven years and has loved the Avondale community. "I take countless special 

memories of Avondale with me and hope I've made contributions of value to this community I've been proud to be a part of!"
