Faculty of the Year
at 
Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA)

Matthew Easton, Assistant Professor-Studio Arts,Sculpture, has been named IAIA's 2019-2020 AICF Faculty of the Year.

Matt was named to his current position in 2016. Previously, Eaton was the Foundry Technician at IAIA. He received his MFA in Sculpture in 2005 from The School of Art and Design, Georgia State University -- and holds an MA in Art Education from the University of New Mexico. Matt also has a Professional Printers' Certificate from the Tamarind Institute, College of Fine Arts University of New Mexico.

The American Indian College Fund Annual Faculty Member of the Year Award was established by American Indian College Fund Board Member, Kim Blanchard, to recognize and celebrate distinguished faculty members at each of the AIHEC Member Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) across the United States. The award honors TCU faculty members who exemplify a commitment to students, scholarship, teaching, and service to Native communities. The faculty member selected by their tribal college or university receives a $500 award.

IAIA Academic Dean Charlene Teters (Spokane) remarked: " The American Indian College Fund's Faculty of the Year is such a special award because it is our graduating students who select the Faculty to receive this honor.  I know Matt's commitment to our students and this is well deserved. My congratulations to Matt."
