For the next 60 days, Faith in Action Bay Area will be making phone calls to low-income voters in the southeast neighborhoods of San Francisco who have not voted in recent elections. These are our neighbors who may quite reasonably believe that voting is not worth the time and effort. Our calls are not your standard phone banking but rather what is called "deep canvassing" where we connect with people and open space for authentic conversation. Will you join us in calling these neighbors to make a human connection in this time of isolation, and to share some hope? To join this effort, please contact Matt Alexander at Faith in Action,[email protected]or (415) 902-5447.

Also participating were Zoom Briefing Moderator/SFIC Executive Director Michael Pappas, SFIC Past Board Chair Rita Semel, SFIC Muslim Board Representative SF Human Rights Commissioner Hala K. Hijazi, Faith in Action Bay Area SF Lead Organizer Matt Alexander, and Jewish Community Relations Council Public Policy and Community Building Director Jessica Trubowitch. Special appreciation is extended to SFIC Program/Administrative Associate Cynthia Zamboukos and the COVID Command Center's Joint Information Center Virtual Outreach Coordinator John McKnight and Team: Producer Lynne Mayes and Lead Sharon Walton.

Please join us next Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 8:30 am, for the next in the SFIC's series of "Online Briefings for Faith Leaders," at which we will hear from San Francisco Unified School District Superintendent Vincent Matthews, Ed.D. who will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on education in San Francisco.
