South Logan Stakeholders,

Happy December! This week, there are two upcoming presentations on the South Logan TOD Project. The project consultants and City staff have been working towards preliminary development “alternatives” for the South Logan area, as well as identifying a range of strategies to support housing affordability and anti-displacement measures. These concepts and ideas have been guided by community engagement through the community planning studio, survey, stakeholder interviews, workgroup meetings, and ongoing discussions.

WHAT'S NEW?

Plan Commission Workshop – Preliminary Alternatives

Wednesday, Dec. 14 - 2 p.m.

The preliminary alternatives are part of the process to identify possible outcomes for enhancing more connectivity, walkability, and neighborhood livability in South Logan. This workshop with the Plan Commission will share the planning values and ideas identified through community input and present a discussion on three preliminary alternatives. View the preliminary alternatives in the Dec. 14 Agenda Packet. For how to tune in online or in person, please visit the Plan Commission page on the City’s website.

City Council Study Session – Housing and Anti-Displacement

Thursday, Dec. 15 - 11 a.m.

View the Draft Housing and Anti-Displacement Memo to learn more about strategies to promote housing affordability and to mitigate displacement in the South Logan area. The public can tune in and watch it LIVE on the City Cable 5 webpage.

NEXT STEPS!

We will be posting the replay of the meetings on the project webpage, where you can also find all of the latest project information and materials—including the community survey results, online StoryMap, existing conditions report, the summary of what we learned at the community planning studio, and recordings of previous meetings.

The community input and data analysis will ultimately inform the values and framework of the Draft Subarea Plan, as well as the preliminary alternatives that will be evaluated in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in early 2023. We will follow up in the New Year with information and opportunities to learn more.

Thank you for your ongoing interest and participation in the South Logan TOD Project.
