Message from the Principal
Dear DHS staff, students, and families,

It's hard to believe that there are just a little over 3 months left of this school year. Let's embrace this time together - cheering on our seniors as they make lasting memories at DHS. The great thing is that we have plenty of opportunities to do so over the next 3 weeks, including playoffs for the winter athletic seasons (come see girls basketball tonight; boys basketball tomorrow; and State swimming and diving, and wrestling tomorrow & Saturday!), our musical next week and the start of spring athletics, and the state robotics competition the following week. Thank you to our entire school community for supporting our students! Continue to check out our Student Life section for more details on our students' extraordinary accomplishments.

Sincerely,
Principal Kathryn Anderson

Genocide Commemoration Day
For the past 7 years, DHS has hosted Genocide Commemoration Day, which is dedicated to honoring genocide victims, survivors, rescuers, and upstanders with a variety of experiences. The event provides meaningful remembrances, inspiring stories, and awareness of current issues that may move many to action.

With that said, an important part of this event is honoring those within or connected to our school community. Do you have a personal/family connection to victims, survivors, rescuers, or upstanders of a genocide? If so, we would like to honor them as part of this year's Genocide Commemoration Day on April 25. Please use the form linked below to share their information by the end of Spring Break.
You can see the stories we have collected in past years on the GCD website: https://www.historyunfolding.org/lest-we-forget.

DHS PTO College Scholarship Fund Accepting Donations
For more than 40 years, The Deerfield High School PTO has sponsored an annual college scholarship fund to benefit deserving Deerfield High School seniors. With the rising cost of a college education and the continuing economic strain on many families, especially over the last couple of years, a college degree might be out of financial reach for some of our students.

Please consider making a gift of ANY AMOUNT by March 4th. See the PTO letter linked below for more details about how to contribute to this important fund.
