Please read the desire of Ridge Road Baptist Church.
"A tornado from tropical storm Claudette ripped through our small town of East Brewton, Alabama on Saturday, June 19.
It completely destroyed a trailer park and several homes in our community. This devastating event left many without a single belonging and others with terrible damage to their homes, vehicles and belongings. So many are having to rely on the generosity of others during this time just to get through.
Our hearts, here at Ridge Road Baptist Church, are so burdened for our community. So many are hurting, and many are now homeless without anything.
We want to help, but we were not sure how. We wanted to help with their physical needs but also most importantly with their spiritual needs. We want to live out the gospel for others to see. We want to be the arms and feet of Jesus in our community. Shine the love of Christ to those who are in their darkest times. We would love to meet some of their physical needs while also giving them the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ that can give them hope during these trying times.
Our burden and vision to help is big, but our congregation and resources are not. That is our dilemma. I know not by luck, but by the providence of God, Brother Roger Hoots, found out about the devastation in our small town and contacted me about Nehemiah Ministry. I hope and pray that we can, together make a difference by showing compassion to the needy in our community."
