Hello FVSD Families and Community,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope you and yours enjoyed some quality time together this summer and that you are rested and ready to start anew.
Since school let out in June, Team FVSD has been busy preparing for the new school year. We hired many new employees including teachers of content areas and transitional kindergarten, paraeducators, elementary physical education teachers, and elementary counselors. We spruced up campuses and classrooms in preparation for the return of staff and students. Our Safe Schools Task Force was reformed, policies and practices were revisited, and plans were made to make our schools safer. FVSD staff engaged in professional learning opportunities so that they remain current, expand and hone their knowledge and skills, and become inspired.
Inspire. That is our theme for the 2022-2023 school year. To inspire means to fill someone with confidence and desire to do something; to make someone feel that they want to do something and can do it. We recognize that we have an opportunity and responsibility to inspire students and those around us everyday, so we must be intentional about doing so–every day. Thank you for your partnership in this important work.
The first day of school is this Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Be sure to review all communication from your school site(s) regarding start times, schedules, drop off and pick up protocols, safety reminders, and more.
Finally, we look forward to seeing you and hearing about your summer adventures. We are excited that you are starting/continuing your educational journey in our outstanding schools.
Here's to a safe and spectacular start to the school year for us all!
Respectfully,
Katherine Stopp
