Fullerton's Hunt Library Gets a New Life. Will Its Biggest Champions Be a Part of It?

Fullerton's Hunt Library can now be counted in Orange County's "success" column, if all goes according to plan. In 2019, assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva secured a $2.5 million state grant to renovate and upgrade the handsome and understated building.

In June, Fullerton City Council unanimously approved a joint proposal by two non-profit arts groups, Heritage Future and Arts Orange County, to administrate the facility. The library, which opened in 1962, has been closed to the public since 2013, when the city leased it to Grace Ministries International Church.

Newport Beach Film Festival Pushed Again, But Will Still Show the Opening Night Film and Honor Eugene Levy

Newport Beach Film Festival is known for the glitz and glamour of local savory cuisine and cinema from around the world, all while guests are serenaded by the waves of the ocean crashing nearby.

Founded in 1999, the festival would have reached 21 years of cinematic celebration in April, if it wasn't for the coronavirus pandemic.

Originally scheduled for April 23 through April 30, the festival was pushed to August 6 through August 13. But with continuously high numbers of coronavirus cases, the festival has been postponed yet again and is currently awaiting new dates.

While the majority of Orange County's arts and culture organizations and venues remain physically closed; virtual/streaming offerings are thriving, and some outdoor venues are beginning their phased re-openings. Arts Orange County is pleased to combine its recommendations for online enrichment with some good news about places you can now visit personally. ArtsOC and Voice of OC continue to urge everyone to follow the State and County's current precautionary guidelines as they venture out. Masks and distancing save lives.
