Because Lutherans adore Him: let us pray. All-powerful and unseen God, the coming of your light into our world has brightened weary hearts with peace. Call us out of darkness, and empower us to proclaim the birth of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. We are in this together. WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER. We may be apart, but we are not alone.

Sunday, December 27, 2020 | 10:30 a.m.
Emanuel’s will join other congregations across our Synod for a Service of Lessons and Carols hosted by Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. The service will be streamed on our Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as broadcasted via the radio at our usual 10:30am time slot. We are grateful for the work of the congregation of Zion Lutheran and their willingness to share this service. Please note, there will not be a bulletin available for this service. We hope you will enjoy this beautiful time of traditional hymns, ancient stories of God’s love, and beautiful singing.

A Christmas Story with
Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton
|
|
Bishop Eaton shares a Christmas message with children as she reads the book The Little Shepherd. In the book, the birth of Jesus is told from the perspective of a shepherd boy. Each of us, no matter how small, can tell the story of Jesus’ birth and how God loves us. Merry Christmas!

A WORD FROM LADIES AID
A decision has been made once again by the officers of the Ladies Aid to discontinue the meetings until further notice. It was our plan to start meeting again on January 6, 2021, but due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in Seguin and Guadalupe County we have decided to cancel meeting.
We did give our contribution to the Christian Cupboard and continued to give Christmas gifts to the church staff.
We will keep everyone in our prayers and we hope we will meet again soon. Thank you for your understanding our decision in this difficult time.

SMALL GROUP UPDATES
Small groups at Emanuel's are patiently pivoting as new restrictions are implemented following our “We Are Better Together” COVID Safety and Gathering Policy. Rising COVID-19 numbers necessitate such action.
Please contact individual groups or the church office to see how each is creatively managing to proceed with the ministry and life of the church. Groups may be meeting online, in clusters of 2-5 people, or by other flexible means. Call first to see how best to participate.

The school will be closed for the holidays as needed floor repairs are done in the main building and teacher training prepares all for a new year of learning.
