September 8, 2021
Hello, writers!

We're less than two weeks out from the 2021 Agents & Editors Conference and we're so excited for what's in store. This is the third in a series of conference mailers that will help you prepare for the big weekend (really, the big week!).

In this mailer you'll find:
  • A link to the conference program
  • Information on purchasing a second consultation
  • A reminder about the pre-conference Virtual Orientation Session (whether you're attending the in-person event or the virtual all-access, we hope you'll join us for this session)
  • A link to our BookPeople online bookstore
  • A link to our current COVID guidelines for in-person attendees
  • A reminder to RSVP for the Saturday Keynote Luncheon if you're attending in-person
  • Links to past mailers

The conference will be here before you know it, so if you have any questions about the information in this mailer or anything else, please feel free to reach out to us at wltconference@writersleague.org. Or, better yet, join us for the Virtual Orientation Session on Thursday, September 9 (details below!).

See you soon!
WLT Staff
It's here! We couldn't be more excited to share with you an early look at the conference program, including the full schedule of events, bios and photos of our visiting agents, editors, and presenters, information on preparing for consultations, the full list of our panelists, presenters, keynoters, moderators, exhibitors, and more. (All in-person registrants will receive a printed program in their welcome bag.)

To view the 2021 Agents & Editors Conference program, click the button below.

Please note: You will be receiving an email tomorrow, Thursday, September 9, with the pre-conference Zoom links. Keep an eye on your in-box!
All A&E Conference registrants - both in-person registrants and virtual registrants - are entitled to a complimentary consultation with an agent or editor. You received a link to the consultation preference form last Wednesday, September 1. If you have not yet filled out the preference form, please do so as soon as possible, and no later than end of day on Thursday, September 9 (click on this link).

At this time, we are opening up a purchase form for those attendees who wish to schedule a second consultation (each registrant is allowed up to - and no more than - two (2) consultations, including the complimentary consultation that came with your registration). These additional consultations are available for $50.00 each. The form includes only the names of the agents and editors who still have appointment spots available and it will be updated as spots fill up. As was the case with the preference form, please list your top five choices. This purchase form will be available until end of day on Monday, September 13.

All registrants will receive their consultation schedule (by email) by end of day on Tuesday, September 14.

Any questions? Now's the time to ask! First, take a look at our FAQs. If you still have a question after you've read through the FAQs, give us a call at 512-499-8914, or email us at wltconference@writersleague.org.
With both in-person and virtual registrants, a week of pre-conference live webinars, and some very important COVID guidelines to keep us all safe, this conference is like no other in our twenty-eight years of hosting this special event. We want to make sure you are as prepared as possible - and we want to answer as many of your questions as we can before the fun kicks off.

Join us THIS Thursday, September 9 at 7:00 PM CDT on Zoom for a complete walkthrough of the conference program, a rundown of our COVID guidelines, a look at the pre-conference line-up of events, and anything else we can think to share to prepare you for the big event. Come prepared with all of your burning questions and we'll make sure you've got everything you need to make your conference experience a success.

All you need to do to join us is click the button below at 7:00 PM CDT on Thursday (THIS Thursday!). See you there! (And if you can't make it, no worries - we'll be sharing the recording with all registrants after the webinar.)
Join us for a terrific line-up of pre-conference virtual events, including genre sessions featuring a published author and their book editor in conversation (a great way to hone your pitch and meet other writers in your genre), our Practice Makes Pitch Perfect presentation and the popular Pitch Lab. These sessions will be live webinars on Zoom and will be recorded and shared with all registrants the day after.

You can check out the full line-up of special guests (they're pretty amazing!) by clicking the button below.

You will receive an email with all pre-conference session Zoom links tomorrow, Thursday, September 9.
What's the best way to support writers? Buy their books! To help you do just that, we've partnered with BookPeople, one of our favorite independent bookstores in Austin, Texas. They'll be the official bookseller for the conference meaning they'll have a table at the in-person conference and they've also created an online store with every panelist and presenter's books and even some of our favorite craft books. Check it out! You can start buying books now.
We are asking all in-person conference registrants to please familiarize themselves with our COVID guidelines for the 2021 Agents & Editors Conference. These guidelines are mandatory and will be enforced throughout the conference. You can find everything you need to know by clicking the button below.

We can't stress this enough: The health and safety of all of our attendees (including registrants, invited guests, staff, and volunteers) will be our highest priority during the conference weekend. Our expectation is that anyone who attends in-person is aware of and prepared to follow these guidelines. If you are not able or willing to follow the guidelines, please contact us immediately so that we can transfer your registration to the Virtual All Access option.

Any questions? Now's the time to ask! Give us a call at 512-499-8914, or email us at wltconference@writersleague.org.

If you're attending the 2021 A&E Conference in person, please let us know by end of day THIS Thursday, September 9, if you'll be joining us for the Keynote Luncheon on Saturday, September 18. There is no extra charge for the luncheon. This is a plated luncheon with three courses, with a keynote address by author Courtney Maum (Before & After the Book Deal) to follow the entree course. Masks will be required except when at your seat and eating, so keep that in mind as you make your decision regarding whether you'd like to join us.

If we don't hear from you (by way of the Google form linked to below) by end of day Thursday, you will not be able to attend the Saturday luncheon. Thanks so much for your attention and understanding!
