Welcome to Redeemer Life!
Happy Mother’s Day! Let us pray and rejoice for all mothers today through whom God has manifested His tender mercy!

Last year on Mother's Day we were just a few months into a year that upended lives around the globe. Over the course of the year, with the nudging of the Holy Spirit, we learned to return to the basics. The things that really matter -- God, family, and friends.

Pastor Dave reminds the staff frequently to pause and breathe because we can't fully serve you, our members, if we aren't taking care of ourselves. The same applies to every mom reading this newsletter today. So on this Mother's Day weekend, it is our hope that you discover what matters most to you and you do it. And remember to breathe. Welcome the Holy Spirit in and let Him fill you with the PEACE of the Lord on Mother's Day and always.

Visioning Task Force Open House

Speaking of the Holy Spirit... His presence was powerfully felt in our halls during last weekend's Visioning Task Force Open House.

Between the two sessions, we entertained questions, conversation and feedback from close to 200 of you! Thank you so much for letting your voices be heard.

If you weren't ready to provide feedback on the spot, you can still submit your input and questions directly to the Visioning Committee at this LINK.

And if you weren't able to join us in person on Sunday, we've captured highlights in the following video including, a question from each Task Force that they'd appreciate you answering. Again, you can share your feedback directly at this LINK.
Visioning Task Force Open House Highlights

Insights from Laura Neidhold, Community Center & Green Space Task Force

Biggest Takeaway:
There are a multitude of possible uses for both the community center and green space. People are curious as to how we can make the space both an opportunity to expand our ministry and serve the community.

The ONE Question we'd like people to answer:
How would you use the Community Center and/or how do you think Redeemer might use the Community Center in living out our mission? You can share your answer here.

Insights from Rob Goff, Memorial Gardens & Columbarium Task Force

Biggest Takeaway:
Most people didn't know there was even an opportunity to have a Memorial Garden linked to Redeemer and/or a church, in general. The biggest topic of discussion was security.

The ONE Question we'd like people to answer:
What kind of memorialization would you want for yourself or your family? You can share your answer here.

Insights from Chuck Stocker, Existing Facilities Task Force

Biggest Takeaway:
Almost unanimously, everyone is in favor of upgrading our existing facility, prioritizing the roof, HVAC and Worship Center. An important point of discussion was clarifying that the existing facility is the immediate priority with the 30+ acres being a part of our longer term visioning process.

The ONE Question we'd like people to answer:
What do you view as the top three (3) priorities for maintenance/upgrades in the existing facility? You can share your answer here.

Insights from Clyde Haase, Housing/Due Diligence Task Force

Biggest Takeaway:
Everyone is excited about the possibilities of developing the land behind Redeemer and eager to participate in the dream building. God has given us a palette of dirt and it is up to us to bring it all together and make the best use of it.
For 20 years, we've talked about the possibility of developing the land. Now looking at the conceptual plan, it is all of a sudden becoming a reality. People now have permission to dream!

The ONE Question we'd like people to answer:
What would encourage you to be a part of the community we are visioning? You can share your answer here.

Insights from Sr. Pastor Dave Noll and Visioning Committee Co-leader, Herb Sanders

Biggest Takeaway:
The power of God's spirit is powerfully felt throughout Redeemer as we open our visioning discussion to the whole of our congregation. The Holy Spirit is alive and well and guiding us every step of the way.

The ONE Question we'd like people to answer:
We want ALL of your questions and feedback and promise that we'll take that input, reflect, discuss, research and come back with answers to the best of our ability. We are blessed to be on this journey together! Again, you can share your input here.

Just a reminder that you will always find our latest Visioning News on our website at this LINK.

And as always, we'd love to hear from you in general! Please feel free to submit your updates, stories, questions, photos, and videos to our Director of Marketing & Communications, Susan Baldwin at sbaldwin@redeemeralive.org. If appropriate and with your permission, we'll feature them here and/or on our social media channels.
A Message from...
 Senior Pastor Dave Noll
Happy Friday Friends,

Thank you for participating in our Visioning Task Force Open House on Sunday. We received feedback from over 200 of you as you walked through our Task Force stations.

I can't even express how much I loved hearing the buzz of your voices as each of you shared whatever God was laying on your hearts. Your opinions, feelings and questions matter to us.

This said there are two big questions left to be answered. In fact, I think almost every person I talked to during the Open House had these same two questions.

1) If Redeemer partners with an external entity on the development of our 30+ acres of land, what portion of the land would Redeemer continue to own and/or how will Redeemer control the use of the property in alignment with our mission, vision and core values?

2) How are we going to pay for all that is being proposed as a part of our visioning initiative?

Related to the latter, there is a lot of work to be done on our existing facility. In fact, 80% of what's being proposed reflects our existing facility with 20% representing seed money to fuel our visioning activities.

Please know we take these two questions very seriously. Our Visioning leaders are working on specific answers to these questions, so stay tuned as we will continue to communicate with you every step of the way as we continue on this journey together with God.

And please keep your questions and feedback coming. I assure you, if you have a question, a dozen others have the same question! You can submit your feedback at this LINK. I also invite you drop me a note directly.

You can enjoy my full Friday message below.

Blessings,
Pastor Dave

It's Time to Register for Staycation Bible School!

Because VBS is such a valued outreach ministry at Redeemer, we are finding a way to say YES to VBS once again! We don't know what COVID-19 restrictions will be in place in July so, for the protection of all involved, we're hosting our 2nd Staycation Bible School.

Simply put, we will be supporting you with online content and activity packets for an at-home version of Vacation Bible School. Same great age appropriate activities, stories and Christian education you've come to expect, packaged in a fun, travel size kit.

REGISTRATION is now officially open at this LINK.

This year's theme is "Follow Me!"

Using Psalm 23 as our map throughout the week, we will follow Jesus at the trailhead, in the valley, through the forest, to the summit of Calvary hill, and on the descent as we are called to share news about our amazing guide to everlasting life with God.

"Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Important dates for your calendar:

July 8 @ 3 pm-6 pm & July 11 @ 9 am-1 pm
Staycation Bible School Kit Pick-up in the Redeemer Lobby -- please bring your kiddos, we'll have picture opportunities and we want to see and meet your children!

Give-to-Give Sunday is on May 23rd this year! Please submit projects ideas and/or sign-up to volunteer at this LINK.

For those new to Redeemer, Give-to-Give Sunday is an awesome experience for all ages. It is a day when, as a Redeemer congregation, we 'do Church' out in the community. A morning of service -- living out the Word and healing presence of Jesus.

If you'd like to submit a service project, following are the criteria:
  • the project serves a person or family outside of our Redeemer family
  • the project can be completed by one or more volunteers in 3 hours or less

Projects to assist non-profit organizations are also welcome. Following are just a few examples of projects currently lined up for Give-to-Give 2021.
Please contact Doug Weinrich, Minister of Servant Leader Development, with any questions at dweinrich@redeemeralive.org or (509)926-6363.

p.s. If you personally need assistance, or know someone in our congregation who needs assistance, contact Doug and we'll get you assistance, just not on Give-to-Give Sunday.

A Message from Josh Williams
Director of Development and Pastoral Care
Spokane’s beautiful spring season brings with it the ending of Redeemer's 2020-2021 fiscal year. No doubt, the past year has been like no other. The pandemic resulted in limited in-person worship with a majority of our congregation joining us online. As a result, our offerings have suffered, slightly.

Despite our in-person attendance being lower than pre-pandemic years, our ministries are thriving and our expenses have remained consistent (not higher or lower).

This in mind it is important that we balance our budget by the end of June and we are asking for your help in making this happen. We are at an extremely exciting point in Redeemer's history as we expand our ministries to live out our mission in new, bold ways.

Today my ask is that you come alongside us to pray that Redeemer can overcome its current budget shortfall comfortably so we are in a strong financial position to begin a glorious 2021/2022 in the post-pandemic era.

With His Thanks and Grace...
