- Reporting to Police
- Reporting other issues

|
Once registered, we'll send you a confirmation email with more information.
Public safety is a team effort. My goal is to work toward a partnership between law enforcement and the community in order to establish trust. Also, by giving more and more residents of our neighborhoods safety training, we can all look out for each other and teach others the tools and knowledge needed to create a safer city.
I look forward to seeing you at the event!
Sincerely,

LET'S TALK TRASH!
How the new State law will affect our City's waste and recycling system.
|
|
Our garbage service and recycling town hall is just 6 days away! Register now.
With the passing of SB 1383, a state law aimed at removing 75% of organic waste from our landfills by 2025, many residents are asking how this will affect their trash and recycling services. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share how the city is currently handling our garbage, how it gets sorted, and what happens to it once it's been processed. Join me for an in-depth discussion about what happens to the City's refuse and recycling.
|
|
I invite you to join me for a virtual Town Hall meeting on February 23, at 6 pm. We'll also be joined by Valerie Osmond, Deputy Director of Integrated Waste Management for the City. Please follow the link below to register.

DISTRICT 4 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
|
|
Our goal is to provide the best possible service to our constituents in District 4. To achieve this, we host events regularly throughout the district and we need your help to make them successful.
Our staff can only do so much so we're asking for a helping hand. We're seeking volunteers willing to assist during monthly dumpster days, neighborhood cleanups and other community events. In return, you will get to spend time with other like-minded members of the community, interacting with your neighbors and learning about the important work the City of San Jose does for its residents.
|
|
Whether you’re a student looking to earn service credit, a volunteer group looking for opportunities to lend a helping hand or an altruist who enjoys making a difference, we’d love to have you join us for a community event.

Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests for Everyone: Every home in the U.S., regardless of their insurance status, is eligible to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests. Orders ship in 7-12 days. Order free at-home tests at www.covidtests.gov.
Avoid Fake COVID-19 Tests: The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Division of Consumer and Business Education recently issued guidance on how to avoid purchasing fake COVID-19 tests. For more information, visit the FTC webpage.
Guidance to COVID-19 Testing Options: With the high demand for COVID-19 testing locally, the County Public Health Department offers guidance on what kind of test to use, when a test is needed, and where you should and should not go to get tested. The testing options are a PCR test, typically administered in a clinic or drive-through operation, and an antigen test, which is available for home use. To help inform residents about the COVID-19 testing options, we encourage you to share these social media assets.
Everyone 12 and older who is six months out from their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two months out from their Johnson & Johnson vaccine, is eligible for a COVID-19 booster shot.
The full list of vaccine sites can be viewed here, and testing sites here. Please note that the sites listed below are drop-in only and have varied schedules. All sites have boosters available. School Site Testing
Again, we encourage school staff and families to register for weekly school site testing, especially during this winter season. Schedules vary by site. Please contact your school to learn your weekly testing day. This registration process also provides permission for your students to be tested when they are considered a close contact for school exposure if response testing is available and helps expedite that process. As a reminder, if you are notified to pick up your child from school for exposure, please be sure to check them out from the office. Additional information for testing and isolation will be provided at that time.

New Booster Mandate
The omicron variant is spreading rapidly, but those who are unvaccinated are a far greater risk of infection and hospitalization. In order to keep our health care system from being overwhelmed, we encourage all residents of San Jose 12 and older to get the booster shot when they are eligible. Beginning February 4, all attendees of events at large San Jose venues, including SAP Center, Center for Performing Arts, and the Convention Center, will be required to show proof of vaccination, including the booster (if eligible). Please take advantage of the vaccination locations listed above to get you and your family members up to date.
