Summer 2020
Greetings Bulldogs,

Hope you are staying safe and well during these challenging times. The Boston Bulldogs community has remained connected and strong, some weekly runs have resumed with Covid pubic health guidelines in place, and members continue to connect virtually for #togetherwedo calls, meditation sessions, and wellness activities.

The 2020 Run for Recovery was a virtual event with 525 registered. The silver lining was the participation of Bulldogs friends and family from across the country. Shout out to Marathon Sports, City of Boston Credit Union, and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation for their generous support of this year's event – and to Festival sponsors Newton Wellesley Hospital, Newton Center Chiropractic, Wegmans, H.E.A.L.I.N.G, REST, and Roche Brothers.

We are tallying results from our member survey. Thanks to everyone who participated - it's not too late. The survey will be open until the end of the month. If you haven't received the link in an email or found it on the FaceBook members page, let us know by replying to this email.

As many of you know we were shocked and saddened by the loss of Bulldog warrior Sean in June. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to his wonderful family. They have been an inspirational part of the Boston Bulldogs family and we will honor Sean by staying connected to them.

Stay safe and well,

The Boston Bulldogs Team
2020 Marathon Team Update: See you in September
All of the Bulldogs on this year's marathon team are planning to run the Boston Marathon virtually on September 12, and continue their training and their fundraising. Details about the course and their BIG day wil be posted to our website and social media.

Funds raised by the team are a significant part of our annual fundraising and support the Boston Bulldogs programs throughout the year. Please take a few minutes to read their remarkable stories and consider supporting them and the Club. Special thanks to Team Leader Meaghan for her leadership and encouragement and to Bulldogs Ambassador Jack Fultz for his ongoing coaching and support.

Meet Andrea
Andrea Heller is a macro social work student at the Boston College School of Social Work, and works for the Center for Wellness and Health Promotion and the Office of Alcohol & Other Drug Services at Harvard University. She is also a Yoga and Meditation Instructor, and Certified Adult Distance Running Coach.

Andrea believes strongly in holistic wellbeing, focusing on the whole individual, and supporting the connections between physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual wellbeing. She was drawn to the Bulldogs because of our integrated approach to wellness and self-leadership in recovery and is excited to both contribute to and learn from the program, and to get to know everyone!

In her spare time you can find Andrea reading, running, hiking, or generally just enjoying the outdoors. She loves to travel and is always looking forward to the next adventure!

Welcome to the Bulldogs, Andrea -- we are excited to have you on the team.

Full Circle Program: We're Here!
The Full Circle Program continues to grow as more and more kind-hearted warriors reach their goals and work on their overall wellness. Already this year, 22 amazing Bulldogs have participated in this program.

For more information on this program or how to get involved,
The Boston Bulldogs Giving Back program
A community engagement initiative that was launched in spring 2019 in South Boston, the program has since expanded to each of the towns that are home to a chapter of the Boston Bulldogs Running Club.

Through this program, the Boston Bulldogs are currently supporting healthcare workers and other first-line responders in our community who are heroically serving all of us in the fight against COVID-19. The Boston Bulldogs have arranged delivery of meals to the staff of the BMC Emergency Department, the housekeeping and facilities staff at the BIDMC Campus in Plymouth and a Boston-based EMT team. The Bulldogs also delivered bagels and coffee to the members of the Quincy Police Department from a local Bulldog-owned café and a staff appreciation lunch to the employees at the Italian Home for Children.

Thank you Amy Doyle, Bulldogs Giving Back Coordinator, for leading this collaborative effort.
