Bennett Days is Just Around the Corner!
The Town of Bennett is excited to host the 11th annual Bennett Days Celebration. After 2020 presented new challenges to the Bennett community, the Town is looking forward to returning to our traditional Bennett Days event.

Bennett Days will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The event will kick off with the “Stronger Together” parade through Old Town at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the parade there will be a vendor street fair, family fun zone, giveaways, a food truck rally and live entertainment until 4:00 p.m.

The Town Board of Trustees will serve a free dinner at 4:30 p.m. followed by the “Bennett Days Bull Games” bull riding event at 6:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with a firework show displayed in partnership with the Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue.

More information including the event schedule and map is available here.
Holiday Help Program
The goal of the Holiday Help program is to provide Bennett families in need with necessities like winter clothing as well as gifts for the holiday season.

This year, the Town will be incorporating “Senior Wishes” into the program and will collect socks, slippers, blankets and other necessities for seniors in the community.

In 2021, Holiday Help is starting with a toy and gift drive. From Monday, August 16 to Wednesday, December 1 residents are asked to bring new and unwrapped toys and gifts to Town Hall. Those who donate will be entered into a raffle to win an iPad. The winner will be announced at Breakfast with Santa on December 4, 2021.

Residents may also bring toys to Bennett Days on September 11, 2021. Those who donate a gift specifically during Bennett Days will be entered into a raffle to win McDonalds for a year. Those who cannot bring a gift may also make a cash donation in order to be entered in the drawing.

Town of Bennett Breaks Ground on New Public Works Facility
The Town of Bennett celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony on August 10, 2021, for the new North Municipal Complex (NOMCOM).

The new building will serve as the home of the Town’s Public Works Department and will be an integral part of the Town’s ability to continue to provide services to the Bennett community.

A portion of the funding for the project came from the Department of Local Affairs and the Town is working in partnership with D2C Architects, LeFever Building, IREA, Kuhn Construction and Terramax Consulting.

“I’m glad we can build this new Town building so our staff can continue to perform and serve the community at the highest level possible,” said Mayor Royce Pindell.

The new facility is expected to be open in 2022.
Kevin Barden Appointed to Board of Trustees
Following a vacancy on the Board of Trustees, interviews were held for two candidates interested in appointment to the Board. After reviewing the submitted applications and interviews, the Board voted to appoint Kevin Barden as a Trustee. Barden was sworn in during the meeting on August 24, 2021, and will serve until April 2022.

Barden has been a Bennett resident for 40 years and is looking forward to giving back to the community.

The Town of Bennett would like to thank Gino Childs and Rick Stroh for their application and interest in the position.
Town of Bennett Roofing Guidelines
Recent severe weather affected many homes and buildings in Bennett. As a friendly reminder, if you need to repair your roof, you must obtain a permit from the Town. All contractors working on homes also need to be licensed with the Town. If you have any questions, please contact the building department at (303)644-3249 ext. 1032.

CodeRED Emergency Alerts
The Town of Bennett has implemented the CodeRED emergency notification system for residents.

This platform will allow Bennett to communicate with residents by sending telephone calls, text messages, emails, posts to social media and mobile app messages to inform residents about emergencies and general Town notifications.

The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of Bennett’s emergency planning and communications outreach. The Town of Bennett will also be using CodeRED’s Weather Warning system. This automated weather warning technology will deliver phone calls, text messages and emails to registered residents and businesses within the direct path of severe weather. This is an opt-in service that automatically notifies those enrolled of tornado, flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings just moments after an alert is issued by the National Weather Service.

All residents living within the Town of Bennett limits are encouraged to enroll here using their phone numbers, emails and addresses. No one should assume they are automatically registered in the contact database and residents are encouraged to create an account so they can personalize their notification settings.

Residents can also sign up for alerts by texting ‘BENNETTALERTS” to 99411.

The registration link can be found here. More information on CodeRED can be found online at www.onsolve.com
