Building Partnerships Conference Registration is Open!
MNPHA's annual Building Partnerships conference, coming up on November 22 and 23, features diverse speakers, ranging from property managers and engineers, to community service providers and civil servants, all of whom are involved with the provision of affordable housing on Treaty land. This year’s sessions will address sustainability, innovative models of housing, tenant-landlord communications and more, with a strong focus on the role of housing in reconciliation.

CFP for Manitoba Housing Homeownership for Low to Moderate Income Families
Manitoba Housing is seeking proposals from qualified organizations interested in creating homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families in Manitoba through a Negotiated Request for Proposal (NRFP). The funding amount reserved under this NRFP is up to $1,000,000. Eligible Proponents include municipalities, private and public/municipal non-profit housing corporations, condominium corporations, and private developers.

Real Estate Sales Policy
The City of Winnipeg Council has recently approved a new Real Estate sales policy which requires the Public Service to market all tax sale properties to non-profit housing corporations. This provides additional acquisition opportunities for affordable Housing providers outside of the Affordable Housing Opportunities in HIZs program.

City of Winnipeg Pandemic Recovery Plan
The recently released City of Winnipeg pandemic recovery plan demonstrates that affordable housing will play a critical role in economic recovery for Winnipeg’s downtown and the City as a whole. It includes proposals to provide up to $50m in Tax Increment Financing for affordable housing development, the largest commitment to affordable housing by The City of Winnipeg in a generation. Your organization can gain access to easy and free tests to implement as part of a screening program to mitigate risk to your staff and the community your organization supports. You will also be contributing to the collective response to COVID-19 through screening and rapid action.
Why participate?

This is a simple and easy way to consistently screen your personnel to stop the spread and help keep them safe. Consistent and frequent screening allows your organization to detect potential COVID-19 cases in as little as 15 minutes.

Screening your personnel gives the people you serve and your wider community greater confidence in the services you are providing.

A screening program using rapid antigen tests is one of the tools, used with masks, hand hygiene, physical distancing, and cleaning protocols, that can reduce the spread of COVID-19. Even with vaccination, testing is critical to early detection and mitigations to reduce individual and collective risk.

This program will help contribute to Canada’s collective COVID-19 response through implementation and reporting back on results.

What do you mean by rapid antigen testing?
Rapid antigen test kits are COVID-19 tests that are administered either by the individual requiring the test, or a health professional. It will depend on your provincial or territorial health guidelines.

The project will add another important component to the community's "Aging in Place" vision and will connect with the existing Dugald Estates Housing Coop which opened in 2015.
