When a child experiences traumatic stress, their reactions may interfere with the child’s daily life and ability to function and interact with others.

The ways that traumatic stress are expressed will vary from child to child depending on the child’s age and developmental level.

It's good to know what some common responses may be (see chart below) in order to be aware of these behaviors in the children we know.
