WHAT: Join Willamette Riverkeeper as we "GET DIRTY FOR GOOD" during our Great Willamette Clean Up 2020 series of events!
WHERE: PLEASE BE SELF SHUTTLED AHEAD OF TIME. Plan to meet at the boat ramp in the main parking area at Clearwater Park in Springfield. Be ready to put-in at the meeting time.
WHEN: Saturday - 10/3 * 10AM-2PM
DETAILS: Please have your shuttle completed before meeting at 10AM at the Clearwater Park boat ramp. Please dress weather appropriately, bring water, face mask, hand sanitizer, and wear close-toed shoes for safety while working in clean up areas. We will provide trash bags, non-latex gloves, trash pickers and masks for those without their own. Volunteers are required to wear PFDs and masks (while on shore), and practice social distancing for the duration of the event and must be confident paddling in class II water. This clean up is limited to no more than 15 volunteer participants and will be led by our partners at Willamette Kayak & Canoe Club.
FOR FUN: We could all use a little more joy in 2020, so with October being Halloween season, and "trash" being pretty creepy already... we invite all volunteers to get into the spirit of things and clean up in their favorite costume or Halloween flare. Post your favorite photos to social media with #GreatWillametteCleanUp20 or feel free to submit to info@willametteriverkeeper.org for a chance to win a prize (more details here).
