Kimberly Rodriguez, The Mahoney Group
I am an Arizona Native. I graduated from UA- Eller College of Business with a BSBA and focus on Human Resources. I worked at a large Insurance Company in the HR Department doing everything from Recruiting, Hiring, EEOC Claims, Investigations, FMLA, to Employee Benefits. After that, I moved to another large insurance company in a Sales Capacity for Supplemental Benefits, where I worked for 15 years listening to the struggles of both the employer and the employees when it came to the cost of Major Medical Insurance.

My focus now with the Mahoney Group is to craft benefits packages for companies that are looking for Strategic ways to attract and retain employees. I help create programs that Employers can Afford to offer, and Employees can Afford to utilize. My goal is to change the norm. The year-over-year rate increase that has become expected is what I am challenging.

My proudest accomplishment is raising two amazing young men who are thoughtful, kind, and loving men, whom I know will make a positive impact in the world.

The Mahoney Group traces its roots to 1915 as an agency founded by John R. O'Donnell in the mining town of Ray, Ariz. Under the leadership of Don Mahoney and John E. O'Donnell (the son of the founder) in the 1950s and 1960s, the agency added real estate services and grew with offices then in Casa Grande, Coolidge, Phoenix, Superior, and Tucson. Today, The Mahoney Group is the largest independent insurance agency in Arizona, employing nearly 200 individuals responsible for the growth and success of the organization.

May is Mental Health Month

As May is Mental Health month, this is a good time to remember how we are all affected on a daily basis by mental health events. Whether from common stressors such as work and family responsibilities, significant events like deaths and injuries, or even serious and life-threatening mental health illnesses, mental health is a part of being human. Despite this fact, shame and social stigma related to mental health continue to be prevalent throughout the US and beyond. Here are a few suggestions on how you can raise awareness and ensure you and those around you have access to support and treatment when need it.
