Mask Sections Updated for May 30
What a blessing it was to worship at one service last Sunday. Our leadership continues to evaluate our needs in terms of mask required and mask optional sections. For this Sunday, May 30, our mask-only sections will stay the same for the morning worship. In the diagram below, the mask-required sections are colored purple. The majority of the sanctuary is mask optional with no social distancing in place.

During evening worship there will no longer be a mask-required section. There should be adequate space for us to respect the needs of others. Please be considerate of those sitting around you who are wearing masks and prefer social distancing.

Envision Capital Campaign
It’s not too late to turn in your pledge card for the Envision Capital Campaign! You can pick up either a booklet or a brochure and a pledge card to learn more about the many upgrades and changes we hope to accomplish through Envision! Both the booklet and the brochure have pledge cards that can be filled out and submitted. Pledge cards can be turned in at the offering boxes located inside the sanctuary at the main, south, north and main balcony exits. You can also make a pledge online at christcovenant.org/envision. We currently have 42% of family units participating and $677,000 pledges toward our goal of $1,500,000.
New ways to pray for Envision
We invite you to join us in praying for our upcoming Envision Capital Campaign. Here are specific ways you can join us in prayer:
  1. The Project – That we would be grateful to our God with what He gifts to us for Envision (I Corinthians 4:7).
  2. The Church – That we would be built up together as a body and that we would reach unity in the faith (Ephesians 4:12&13).
  3. The Mission – That we would see Envision as a means to help us in the Great Commission as we invite others to Christ and into life within our church family (Matthew 28:18-20).
Save the Date!
Congregational Meeting on June 6
The Session has called a congregational meeting for the purpose of voting on officer candidates and returning sabbatical officers. It will be held on Sunday, June 6, immediately following morning worship services. Please note that those who attend morning worship in-person on Sunday, June 6, will be voting on these nominees. We will not have online or advance voting available.

Biographies of each new candidate and officers returning from sabbatical are available for pick up outside the sanctuary doors, or you can click here for a downloadable and printable document of the officer candidates bios. These officer candidates have been nominated by members and are commended to you by the Session for congregational approval at the upcoming Congregational Meeting on June 6. Please pick up a brochure or see the document online to review the candidates in preparation to vote.

New candidates have successfully completed the leadership training class and passed written and oral exams. Returning sabbatical officer candidates, in addition to successfully completing the leadership training class, and written and oral exams at the time of their ordination, have been examined recently for their theological views and the condition of their personal and family lives.

We look forward to your participation in electing new officers.
Save the Date to Celebrate
Bernie Lawrence on June 27, 2021
We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating Pastor Bernie Lawrence on Sunday, June 27, during the evening worship service and having a reception for him immediately following worship in the Community Life Center (CLC). We hope you will save the date and make plans to celebrate Pastor Bernie Lawrence, who was our Senior Associate Pastor and who served Christ Covenant Church for thirty years.
18/22 Summer Meetings
The 18/22 Summer meetings are a great opportunity for graduating seniors preparing to go to college, or current college students. It will help you grow in your intellectual understanding of Christianity for the purpose of strengthening your faith and exposing yourself to many of the doubts and challenges that you will face on the college campus. Join us every Monday at 7:00 pm in June & July at the Campus Outreach house as we read and discuss an exciting new book written for college students by Dr. Mike Kruger, Surviving Religion 101. Those who sign up by emailing Andrew Lingg at andrew.lingg@campusoutreach.org will get a free copy of the book!
Summer Online Sunday School
We gain encouragement and worthy models of faith when we look to those who have followed Christ before us. In June and July we will get to hear from our pastors about the lives of various Christian men and women and what we can learn from them today. Each Sunday School will be online on all of our online platforms. The first Summer online class will be available on Friday, June 4. More information is forthcoming.

Morning Summer Bible Study | Samuel, Forerunner to the King
God called Samuel as prophet to bring His people out of the dark, chaotic time of the judges to establish a monarchy. Although an earthly king to rule under Him was part of God’s plan, the rebellious people demanded a king for the wrong reasons, rejecting God as their King. Samuel was used to prepare the Israelites to receive the anointed king, the throne and dynasty of King David. Through the line of David came the ultimate king, King Jesus.
As we study passages from 1&2 Samuel it can give encouragement, seeing God was still at work during a dark time in history to bring about His plan of salvation fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
We can evaluate our own lives - our loyalty and devotion to King Jesus. Does my life reflect that He is supreme ruler as my King, or have I placed other things on the throne in my life?
Join this Bible study on Tuesday Mornings, meeting June 8 - July 6, from 10:00-11:30am in the Community Life Center Chapel. This Bible study is free. Register today by clicking here.
Evening Summer Bible Study | Communicable Attributes of God
Please join us for a 6-week study of the communicable attributes of God…Those attributes that the Lord shares with human beings to at least some degree. For the months of June, July and August we will be sending out a 5 day devotional looking at a different attribute each week. Our Bible study teaching will center around the attribute that is being studied that week.
This study will be taught by a team of teachers. We look forward to a time of fellowship, delicious summer snacks, great teaching, and round table discussions. Please plan to join us and invite your friends!!

Dates for the classes are Tuesday Evenings June 8, 15, 29 and July 6, 13, & 20 from 7:00-8:30pm in the Community Life Center Rooms 1-4. The cost is free. You can register now for this Bible study by clicking here.
