Dear friend in Christ,
You'll see in the news items below that because we can't hold our annual Gratitude Day in August due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are holding a virtual Gratitude Week. As part of the week, we want to pray especially for your intentions, so if you have any prayer requests you'd like included, please send them to me at
[email protected].
We chose "Gratitude Transforms Fear" for our Gratitude Week theme, and I can highly recommend it as an approach to life at this time. The virus continues to be a source of anxiety, and we are faced with accepting and dealing with the systemic racism that affects society; life feels threatening and out of control. Yet, as we thought of the many ways in which we are grateful for you, for creation and the many good people and events which touch our lives, our spirits definitely lightened. Thank you for being sources of gratitude and thus transforming fear.
Gratefully,

In Loving Memory: Dorothea (Arleda) Lenz, OSB
|
Sister Dorothea (Arleda) Lenz entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 28. There will be a private service and burial of cremated remains at Saint Benedict’s Monastery on Monday, August 3, and a memorial Eucharist will be celebrated at a later date. Her beautiful spirit will be missed, but we rejoice with her in her coming home to God.
Read more and celebrate S. Dorothea's life.
*Her death was not related to COVID-19.

Since we are not able to gather in person this year for Gratitude Day, we hope you will join us in celebrating Gratitude Week, which will take place virtually August 3–9. Throughout the week, we will be sharing our gratitude with you through our website, social media platforms and email, so be sure to follow us! We will also be randomly selecting one person each day to receive a virtual blessing (personalized for use when you have a special event or celebration) from the sisters! Winners will be selected and notified via our email list.
