Follow-up after a Crisis Event

Applicable to: Mercy Care Complete Care, Mercy Care Long Term Care and Mercy Care DD

Mercy Care wants to inform you that we are in the process of making changes to the process for follow-up after a crisis event.

You will be receiving e-mail notifications with a list of members that have recently engaged in crisis services. This list will include members that are, or have been, assigned to your clinic. According to AMPM 1040 - Outreach, Engagement, and Re-Engagement for Behavioral Health , behavioral health providers are required to follow up within 7 days of notification. Member follow-up includes assessing the member ‘s needs, identifying supports and services that are necessary to meet those needs, and connecting the member to appropriate services. Oversight will be facilitated through the audit process as part of the Re-engagement Policy AMPM 1040 .

Your Network Management Representative will be in touch to obtain a point of contact for this process and additional contact information. It is important that you communicate any changes to your contact information to your Network Management Representative.

For Mercy Care RBHA SMI members, the process is slightly different. Please continue to refer to the Mercy Care RBHA Provider Manual , Chapter 2, Section 2.03 – Outreach, Engagement, Reengagement and Closure, Follow-Up After Significant and/or Critical Events for further detail.

As always, don't hesitate to contact your  Mercy Care Network Management Representative  with any questions or comments. You can find this notice and all other provider notices on our  Mercy Care   website.

Thanks for your attention to this important matter. It's important to all of us to keep our information private and safe!
