Anxious About School Starting?
Who isn’t? Just as soon as baseball starts, the Florida Marlins team needs to postpone games due to a dozen players with COVID. Locally & nationally reports have surfaced about many teachers retiring early or quitting due to safety concerns. Many schools are now stating they will open virtually & see how things progress. Some schools are offering a HYBIRD model giving families options providing on-site classes half the week and virtual half the week. It’s only July and a lot can happen between now and School starting. In the meantime, just the “talk” about options, choices, safety is creating tremendous worry in kids of all ages (& their parents). Click on the button below for a video that is actually a nice tool for having any conversations about worrisome topics
Bridges Family Grief Group begins NEW group for college students
College life is a period of drastic change, with a tremendous amount of growth and maturity at times tinged with confusion, fear, pressure and the thrill of newfound independence. Throw grief from the death of a loved one to cancer into the mix, and it’s easy to understand how difficult it can be to handle the huge spectrum of emotion that a college student might experience. Join The Gathering Place's college-aged virtual grief group to find support and take care of yourself during this difficult time. Meeting the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, 6:30-8:00 PM over ZOOM. Contact Aseem Garg at garg@touchedbycancer.org to participate.

Crops You Can Plant in August
Sometimes Spring planting gets away from us – August is a great time to plant some crops that you can enjoy in early fall and some that you can harvest for Thanksgiving! If you plant broccoli in full sun, you can have this on your Thanksgiving table. Lettuce & spinach can easily be planted in August to enjoy in the fall. Use google to search for August planting in Zone 6!
