Board chairs should mark Simone Joyaux's website as a source of some governance and fund development resources. I have had the pleasure of meeting and learning from Simone Joyaux in both areas and sadly she recently passed away. I met her in a series of governance workshops serving on my first non-profit board many years ago. I never knew how much I didn't know about board service and good governance. She helped boards hold themselves accountable for their work and responsibilities and she did so with an iconic bold, provocative style that commands your attention to the seriousness of board service. She did not let anyone get away with passivity.
