James E. Bowen, Sr.
Chairperson
Board of Dirctors
Board of Directors
GECAC's Board of Directors has been meeting virtually and in-person during these challenging times. The board and staff have come together and developed a plan that will help GECAC not only weather COVID-19 but thrive during the pandemic.

Our entire board is engaged and is committed to ensuring the staff has what they need to stay safe and continue to serve our community. The board is working closely with Danny Jones, Chief Executive Officer, to govern and manage the situation, as well as address essential policies and our short-term and long-term financial plan.

We are proud of how our staff has risen to the occasion and how our entire organization is committed to providing vital services for low-income essential workers, folks that lost their jobs, and vulnerable seniors living on a fixed income.

  • GECAC is following guidelines from CDC.
  • GECAC is NOT relying on viral deceptions or conspiracies.
  • GECAC IS relying on facts from infectious disease professionals.
Safety Committee
The GECAC Safety Committee consists of a cross-section of employees from all levels of our organization.
  • The committee has identified safety issues associated with COVID-19 and has come up with solutions.
  • The committee is tasked with oversight to ensure all staff and visitors are following the new protocols.
  • The committee is ensuring that all practices are following CDC guidelines and local, state, and federal mandates.
Remote Work
GECAC's employees are teleworking, following the guidelines of the Green Phase put forth by Governor Tom Wolf.
  • GECAC has purchased laptops and software so that staff can work from home.
  • Cell phones, mobile hotspots and call forwarding software were purchased for staff so they are able to communicate with clients.
COVID Positive Protocals
GECAC has plans in place to handle suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 within our buildings. GECAC has the following in place:
  • Protocols for employees who have symptoms when they arrive at work or become sick during the day.
  • Protocols for employees who may have been exposed to COVID-19.
  • Protocols for employees who test positive for COVID-19.
Building Readiness:
Re-Opening Our Doors
As Erie County stabilizes from the COVID-19 pandemic GECAC will begin to bring employees and clients back into our physical workplace.
  • GECAC is working to prepare our buildings: cleaning plans, pre-return inspections, HVAC, and mechanical checks.
  • Access will be controlled: protocols for safety and health checks, building reception, shipping/receiving, elevators, and visitor policies.
  • GECAC is creating a social distancing plan: redesigning spaces, designating and posting the direction of foot-traffic, and adding panels between desks and visitors.
  • GECAC is installing a keycard system that staff will swipe to enter the building and additional security cameras will be added to increase building visibility.
