Generating additional tax revenue from commercial development would give the board the flexibility to further reduce the rate and shift more of the burden for funding the local government from homeowners to businesses.

Adoptable Pet Spotlight
This adorable guy is Ferdinand!

He is a one year old Pitbull/Mastiff mix and he weighs 80 pounds. He has the cutest face that'll make you fall in love with him. He can be a little shy and nervous when you first meet him, but once he gets to know you he will become your best friend.

He's not a huge fan of toys, but he craves attention from his humans. He is mostly calm, but can be playful when he wants to be. He seems to like other dogs here at the shelter.
He met dogs that he got along with, but he also met one dog who didn't like him which didn't make him too happy. If you have another dog at home we encourage you to bring him/her in with you to meet him! Ferdinand is heartworm positive. We have started his treatment and will send you home with his medications.

If you are interested in meeting this pet, please contact Chesterfield County Animal Services at 804-748-1683, option "0," to schedule an appointment. Office staff are available by phone 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The shelter is located at 9300 Public Works Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
