Sunapee Happenings
Photos by Maria Fair
The greater Sunapee region is a great place to live… especially in the summer! Considering where we were a year ago, we’re profoundly grateful that we were able to weather the tempest here in New Hampshire, with confidence that we’d make it thru the transition to the good old days of a lazy summertime.

Hermia loves Lysander. Lysander loves Hermia. Demetrius also loves Hermia, even though he used to love Helena, who is still in love with Demetrius. The confusion multiplies when the lovers run away into a forest full of magical fairies. Throw in a troupe of amateur actors rehearsing a play and the result is lots of mischief in the woods. Directed by Eric Love, this high-energy, fast-paced adaptation will be FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!

Drawn by the natural beauty in New Hampshire, “Rollin’ Down the Blackwater”
with thanks to Peter Bloch for sharing this vimeo.

The Blackwater River wends its meandering way through west-central New Hampshire. We have paddled several times on a section called the Bay, and last month we ventured out to a nearby portion of the River. We saw a combined grouping of Mallard, Black and Hooded Merganser ducks, with a Coopers Hawk chasing butterflies right over their heads! The dragonflies were just starting to get busy, and at the end of our paddle we ran across an amazingly large crop of Chicken of the Woods mushrooms. All in all, another perfect day on the water with Kathy! The music is "Projection" courtesy of FreeMusicArchives.org.
