Mindfulness and Gratitude


In light of Thanksgiving, this week's theme is on Mindfulness and Gratitude! During this time of year, we often take a few moments to express our gratitude and appreciation for what we are thankful for. Mindfulness, which is the state of being fully present in the current moment, often goes hand in hand with gratitude and can allow us to further appreciate the holidays. Although the holidays can be stressful, practicing mindfulness can allow us to appreciate and focus on the positives.


Aside from the holidays, did you know that mindfulness and gratitude are proven to improve physical and psychological health? Studies indicate that practicing mindfulness and gratitude can lead to increased adherence with healthy lifestyle practices, reduced likelihood of depression and aggression, and improvements in sleep pattern, stress management, and self esteem.   • Follow these steps to complete the challenge.
  • Write down something you are grateful for on a note/piece of paper.
  • Take a picture of the paper (either with or without you in it!).
  • Post the picture to the Week 3 Photo Album!
