September 2020

Dear MPT colleagues,

We hope this message finds you well.

We would like to share two upcoming opportunities with you. Please read below to learn more.

If any of you apply and are selected for these opportunities, we would love to hear about it so we can help spread the word.

Best regards,

Women's Health Innovation Summit

As we shared in our recent IMPT Partner Update newsletter, this year's virtual Women's Health Innovation Summit (WHIS) will take place between 9-22 September.

We would like to share an opportunity for you to showcase your MPT work at the summit's Women's Health Innovation Spotlight 2020. The Spotlight event aims to showcase the most innovative and disruptive companies in women's health. Eight to ten companies will be hand-picked by a Selection Committee to introduce themselves and their product/solution on the main stage in a quick-fire round of presentations. The Innovation Spotlight deadline is Friday, September 4th. We encourage you to apply here.

Several MPT partners will be giving presentations at other times during the Summit, and the IMPT Secretariat was invited to be on the agenda to raise awareness around MPTs with a new cadre of partners, including investors, who may not yet be familiar with MPTs. We will be moderating the Contraception Round Table on Wednesday, 9 September 2020 at 10:30am PDT. Registration is open through this Friday.

Call for Applications: The Moth Global Storytelling Virtual Workshop

The Moth, the internationally-acclaimed organization dedicated to the art and craft of personal stories told live, is holding three virtual storytelling workshops in October 2020, in partnership with The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. These workshops will explore personal stories related to Family Planning. Guided by Moth instructors, workshop participants shape selected life experiences into well-crafted stories with an angle towards advocacy, which may then be presented to peers and to the world at large.

Who should apply: Individuals who identify as a beneficiary of family planning services, including in areas of service delivery, access to contraception, and social behavior change. Advocates working in the field providing access to family planning services are also encouraged to apply.

Applications will be accepted through Monday, September 7 at 12pm EDT. For more information and to submit an application, click here.
