Jordan Valley School Based Clinic

Opens October 1

health clinic JV.jpg

Republic School District is excited to announce that our school based health clinic partnership with Jordan Valley Health Centers will kick-off on October 1!

Jordan ValleyOne Jordan Valley community health worker will be available to work with our school nurses to coordinate a virtual visit with a Jordan Valley doctor or nurse practitioner for any student or employee that is sick and needs to be seen by a practitioner for the following illnesses: strep throat, ear infection, sinus infection, rash, pink eye, stomach flu, bug bites, lice and congestion. After being seen by a provider the student/employee will be able to return to class/work OR they will be given a diagnosis and will be ready to go home. If necessary, the practitioner will call in a prescription to the patient's pharmacy for them to pay for and pick-up.

This partnership is made possible primarily by funds provided by Jordan Valley Health Centers. Beyond office space for the onsite community health worker, this program has no other financial obligations for the district. Parents and employees will never receive a bill for care. If the patient has insurance, that insurance will receive the bill. If the patient does not have insurance, Jordan Valley Health Centers covers the cost of the visit and patients only have to pay for prescriptions, when needed.

This service will be optional, but available to all students and employees. Paper registration forms will be coming home with students September 13 and will need to be completed and returned to school before they can be seen by the practitioner beginning October 1. You can also print a form and return it to school at shorturl.at/juOSV. We're excited and thankful for this opportunity to partner with Jordan Valley Health Centers!

State Assessment Individual Student Reports

Each spring students across the district participate in state assessments (MAP and EOC). We have been notified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) that Individual Student Reports (ISR) are available. The schedule for distribution of ISRs for students who participated in state assessments last spring is as follows:

  • ISRs for students currently in grades 4 & 5 will be distributed to families during Parent Teacher Conferences the week of October 25 (more information to come).
  • ISRs for students currently in grades 6-8 will be distributed to students on September 20 during the last class of the day.
  • ISRs for students currently in grades 9-12 will be distributed to students the week of September 27.

Information for how to interpret your child's results will be included with the ISR. If you have any questions or would like to see your child's report prior to the distribution times, please contact your child's school counselor or Dr. Jennifer Renegar, District Test Coordinator at 732-3605, ext 6014 or [email protected].

SEPTEMBER 10: Our very own Aubree Dover, 6th grader at RMS, was recently featured in the national publication, Scholastic News! She submitted her thoughts on “Are there too many holidays?” and is now a published author. Very cool! We’re #RepMOProud of you, Aubree!

SEPTEMBER 8: BLAST FROM THE PAST! Art Photography I students at RHS did a “vintage artifact search” where they got to experiment with old 35mm cameras, film, filters, light meters, flashes, lenses and video cameras… Now their smart phones can do it ALL! #RepMOProud

SEPTEMBER 7: We're so thankful for awesome teammates! Today Schofield custodian, Mr. Tracey was "caught" on camera doing what he does best and our number one priority...taking care of students and fellow teammates! #RepMOProud

SEPTEMBER 2: Check out this SWEET VIDEO featuring some of our youngest learners participating in phonemic awareness. This practice is seen in our classrooms across the district and helps students become strong readers and writers! It’s a process that includes rhyming words, beginning sounds and then “chopping” words into phonemes and then blending them together. This video was created last year, but it’s a great one to demonstrate what learning to read and write looks like in our classrooms! #RepMOProud

SEPTEMBER 2: Who doesn't love an escape room?! Students in Mrs. Replogle’s Social Studies class at RMS participated in a virtual escape room. They worked together to complete tasks and solve questions in order to escape. We love the amazing teamwork they used! #RepMOProud

SEPTEMBER 1: Check out the "Sweeny refrigerator!" Who doesn’t love to display their favorite piece of work on their refrigerator? Each Sweeny student now has a place to display work all year long! Our students will get to pick what piece of work they want to hang on the refrigerator next to their name! #RepMOProud

AUGUST 31: English IV students at RHS participated in a book pass, which is similar to speed dating, but with books! It's a great way for students to spend a few short minutes with books of various genres, explore books they may not have previously considered and ultimately add a book or two to their "Want to Read" lists. Many students checked out a book they found through the process. The words "There are so many books I want to read!" and "Can I check out more than one?" were heard several times! 📚 #RepMOProud #RepMOReads

AUGUST 31: BEAUTIFUL! Many of you posted your "rainbow" pictures, and we wanted to join the fun. Check out these photos we captured over our Transportation Facility after yesterday's storm. There's something wonderful about knowing that after "the storm" something beautiful can occur! #RepMOProud
